Power

After the announcement we stayed at the cottage for a few days after sending word to Radcliff that we were safe. We cleaned up the place and cleared the garden for the vegetables. We went to the local market for food each day and we all made delicious fresh meals each day. We planted vegetables in the garden and cleared the rooms for us to stay there. On our last day there i locked myself in my room and avoided my sisters for the whole day.
"Lacee please come down for dinner," Jacalyn said knocking on the door and when I didn't respond she knocked again. I pulled myself off my bed and unlocked the door for her to come in. When she came in I didn't look up, but she sat down on the bed petting my hair. She helped me out of bed and walked me downstairs where delicious smells were coming from. Sabina placed a beef stew at my seat with a sad smile and add a peice of bread with a flourish before taking her seat next to mine. I sat down and looked down at my food before deciding if I wanted to eat or not. A day without anything to eat got to me and I began to chow on my food eating a little to quick. When we all had finished we gathered around the fire and I laid down with my head in Bailee's lap. She braided strands while everyone else looked into the fire and we began to talk. We talked into the early morning but I fell asleep early on and woke up in my bed upstairs. Laid out on the chair was a simple blue peasant blouse and jeans ready to be worn. Bailee came in once i was dressed and put my hair in a ponytail handing me a bagel with juice.  We left early driving instead of flying home and when we arrived Kadin swarmed us with questions about where had bee. Radcliff stood in the doorway looking like he hadn't slept in days and he hugged me deeply when I approached him.
"I am so sorry," he whispered in my ear holding me tighter before releasing me with a sad smile. He took my hand and we walked inside to the foyer where Uncle was waiting.
"Lacee," he started to stay but I had already walked closer to him and slapped him. Everyone gasped behind me while Jacalyn snickered but Uncle was less than amused.
"Where have you been," he grumbled clutching the side of his face. I stuck my nose in the air and moved back to my siblings while Radcliff squeezed my hand.
"Your fiance has been waiting to meet you," he said," he is coming for dinner." Radcliff nodded and Bailee took me up to my room here.
