Nothing Like Perfect

I, Rose Lynn Smith was born on April 17th. The day I was born it was a perfect day. The sun shone and the birds chirped. Everything was bright and sunny. As I said, it was perfect. I too wanted to be like that day, perfect in every way. I had a plan for exactly how my life would go. Now, years later at age 31, I know my life did not follow that path at all. It zigzagged and took it's own route. But that's okay. Now that I'm here I'm glad my life didn't follow my plan. I'm far happier this way.
My amazing wife tells me that rainy days are her favorite. If that's true it means that my day can't really be perfect. Everything is just a matter of opinion. Happy is what really counts. I am happy with my wife and my job. I'm happy with who I am and the different people I might become. Perfect is overrated anyway. It took me a while to figure that out. I've always wanted to be a writer, you know. I thought I'd try my hand at a story. Nothing fancy, just my story. I'm going to start at the beginning of happy. I'm going to start where my perfect plan began to fall through. I was young and naive. It was 15 years ago when I was 16.
