New love, and new Mira

Rick smiled at Mira. That cute smile always set Mira's heart aflutter, and she couldn't help but smile back a little. Rick blushed, and broke the few minutes of silent by asking "Hey do you want to go to the party, like um...Together"? "Yes'! Mira practically screamed. The other students in there were staring at her. "Um....yeah." She  quietly said. Rick was relieved, he always looked confident on the outside, but on the inside he wasn't. He felt sure that Mira liked him now. He felt like even asking her to go to the party together was a huge risk, but after hours of thinking it over he finally did, and it felt good.
    After Mira ate, and said goodbye to Rick she went back to her dorm. Mira was nervous about the party before, but she was nervous beyond belief now that Rick wanted to go 'with her'. Kassandra was in their dorm wearing a pale pink dress that came above her knees, when Mira walked in. "Hey Mira, I just got back from my art class". Kassandra said. "Hey, can I tell you something" Mira said quietly. "Sure, anything." Kassandra excitedly said. "Well, umm. Rick asked to go to the party with me, and I said yes!" Mira said nervously yelling the second sentence. "That's great, I wish I could  the party with a cute guy, but I said I'd go early to help with the set up. Well bye, I gotta go now." Kassandra exclaimed in her usual cheery tone. Mira felt so different. In a good way, she felt like her life actually just started, and it felt so good.
    Mira put on her new dress, and touched up her hair, but her makeup stayed perfect, just as she'd done it earlier. Fifteen minutes after that Rick knocked on the door. Mira knew who it was, and her stomach was in a huge knot. She weakly opened the door. "Hey, are you ready?" Asked Rick. "Y-y-yeah' Mira nervously replied. Rick could tell she was nervous, he was kind of nervous too, but he knew how to hide it. You'd never guess his personality either. Rick seemed like the typical "cool guy", and lots of girls like him, but underneath that he's one of the cute shy guys that girls like even more. Mira looked up. Rick was wearing a leather jacket, a pair of nice, dark blue jeans, and a white T-shirt. Mira, and Rick walked to Carrie's dorm. Their shy personalities made things kind of awkward between them. When they approached Carrie's dorm Rick broke the silence "It's really loud in there already. The party started like ten minutes ago.
    Mira knocked loudly on the door. Carrie answered the door, and said "Hey you guys made it, just like you Mira, fashionably late. Mira was surprised that Carrie could hear her knock, and how Carrie seemed to talk like her, and Mira knew each other for a long time, that was just her outgoing, bold personality. However, Mira was glad, Carrie seemed really friendly to her, as did Kassandra, and Rick. Mira, and Rick walked into the dorm, and immediately one of Ricks friends came up. "Hey Rick, that's a nice girl you brought." Rick glared at him, and his friend walked away, and said "Jeez, alright." in an obnoxious way. "Sorry that's just my weird friend, Jason. He tries to hook up with practically any girl he sees". "That's alright" Mira shyly said. "I'm going to go  over where the food is" said Mira , she was overwhelmed by the crowd. "I'll go with you". Said Rick. He could tell Mira was overwhelmed, and he wanted Mira to now he cared. While Rick, and Mira were talking by a food table, rick's ex-girlfriend Diane walked over with a jealous expression....
