Chapter 28- Killer in the mirror
Unfortunately, the nightmares continued.I sat, my scythe on my back, as I watched the palace. Guards patrolled around in the night. As soon as their backs were turned I ran and jumped, landing on the roof. I ran along then crouched, hidden from the guards above me. Once the coast was clear I climbed down and into a window.
I knew exactly what I was going to do.
I had only one option.
To get revenge on those who wronged me.
I grinned, then snuck down the hall. I had perfect vision in the dark, due to my demon heritage, and so I saw as a stray patrol started heading towards me.
I jumped upward, and hung onto the ceiling with the talons on my wings. They passed underneath me, talking and joking, completely clueless. Once they were out of sight I jumped down, and continued on my way.
Finally I reached my destination. I silently crept open the door, and in the dark I saw him sleeping in bed. I went up to him, looking down at him.
He was the one that killed my mom for falling in love with a demon.
He was the one that sent my cousins on a deadly mission.
And he was the one that sent out bounty hunters on my dad.
I drew my scythe. The faint slither of it somehow woke him up. He opened his eyes. When he saw me he didn't look scared. Instead, it was acceptance.
"So you've come to kill me."
I didn't move. I didn't answer. He shook his head and looked me in the eyes.
"You know what you look like, Abaddon? You look like the grim reaper. And right now your acting like one. Go on, kill me. I know my time has come... And I also know how much pain your going to go through. You'll become a criminal." He grinned
I narrowed my eyes.
"So be it."
And like that I ended my uncles life.
I ran.
I ran like I had never run before.
Guards shouted behind me, and people screamed as I rushed by.
I jumped over a barrel, stumbled, then kept running. Finally I found a alleyway and I ducked into it. I hid behind some crates, holding my breath and praying that they wouldn't sense me.
Thankfully, they didn't. They ran past me, not even glancing.
I relaxed, sighing. That was too close.
I pulled out my scythe and looked at it. My face reflected in the white blade.
And I felt justice.
