Chapter 11- Reckoning
I looked around and saw the angel girl still fighting Alex. Surprisingly, they were evenly matched. I shouted."Hey! Over here!"
She glanced over her shoulder. I waved her over. Alex sliced at her but she bent backwards, the blade going over her head. she hit him in the stomach with the butt of her spear and with one flap of her wings jumped to me.
"Whatever your plan is hurry-"
I cut her off as I grabbed her hand and teleported away. Everything went black, and I heard slithering whispers as my magic took affect. Seconds later we reappeared. She took a step back, confused and bewildered, and bumped into a small table. The next thing I knew something shattered against the ground. I winced.
"What the... Where are we?" She said.
Ash rushed in with Solus behind her. Ash froze with her mouth open at the angel girl, surprised. Then she saw the shattered item, which at a second glance looked like a flowerpot.
Solus was likewise surprised, but he didn't seem as affected by it.
"You." he whispered, staring at the angel girl.
"I told you I'd come."
"Yeah but.."
Whatever he was about to say next faded behind Ash's exclamation.
"Who are you??"
"My name is Blaise Fireborn. Its nice to meet you....Human." She looked at Ash up and down, seeming almost skeptical. It occurred to me she must not have gotten along well with humans in the past.
"I'm Ash."
Blaise then looked at me.
"That wasn't any teleporting I was used to. What did you do?"
Everyone looked at me, curious. Their stares made me uncomfortable, and I shifted in place.
"I-I don't know. I just.." I looked at my hand and waved it a bit vaguely. Suddenly black magic covered it, like a dark fire. Surprised I shook it, and the fire went out. I looked at it, spooked.
"You just waved and made evil fire appear?" Ash asked.
"No I-"
"Its ok, Scratch. I understand."
I looked at Solus surprised.
"Really?"
"Yeah. May I check something?"
"Sure?"
He stepped forward, focusing. His hand glowed bright. Blaise narrowed her eyes.
"Hold your hand out."
I did as told. He reached for my hand with his glowing one. My hand tickled slightly, feeling tense. As soon as he touched the lights flickered and went out. I felt a huge surge of magic come between us. Twisting and turning, Ripping and molding, Growing and shrinking. After a few seconds Solus jerked his hand away, and the lights came back on. His hand faded back to normal.
I looked at him. He looked surprised and grim, almost like something unexpected had been confirmed. He then narrowed his eyes and walked past me.
"Solus wait!" Ash chased after him.
Blaise and I looked at each other.
"Do you know what he..?"
"Yeah."
"What did he do?"
Blaise went quiet, looking away.
"I'll explain to you later, snowflake."
