There Is No End

~Chapter 4~

   “What stone? Cursed?” Rose asked obviously confused. Eternal sighed as she began to explain what had happened yesterday.   

   Rose nodded in understanding. “Ok. So, screams, craters, stones, beast-tiger, cursed, not cursed?” Rose asked, putting everything that Eternal had explained into a nut-shell. Tora nodded, “Yep, that’s about it.” The tiger sighed out, in exhaustion. None of them had gotten any sleep last night. Tora looked for the girl, who seemed to have gone missing, and took a bite out of her bagel. “So, Tora, How is the stone not cursed?” Maggie asked.
   Tora, thought for a second, pulling her thoughts together. Finally, the tiger spoke, “I think the stone is haunted. By a little girl. But, I can’t see her now...” Tora trailed off. Then, she realized something. She could only see the child when she was a beast, was she the only one who could see her? Was it that her eyes were to sensitive, now?
    Those types of questions filled her head. Tora took another bite of her bagel, as she flopped down onto the couch. The others sat, lazily on it next to it. Maggie turned on the TV and flipped through the channels.
    “Eternal. Give me the stone.” Tora demanded. Reluctantly, the Mobian handed the gem to the tiger. Tora inspected it, carefully. She felt, nor saw anything unusual. That was until, she felt something tug slightly at her arm. Tora looked around, but the others were undisturbed, Eternal reading a book, Maggie watching Spongebob, and Rose exploring the house. Eternal looked up from her book, “Anything wrong?” the Mobian questioned. Tora slowly shook her head, “No, nothing.” But really, thousands of questions raced through her head, what was that? Was Maggie trying to freak me out? Or was it Eternal? Was it the girl? Was I just seeing things last night?
    That was only a fraction of her questions. Tora calmed herself, being sure not to act unnatural around the others. Moments of sorting through her thoughts pasted, when suddenly there was a knock at the door. Startled, Tora opened the door.
