~Chapter 2~
Tora reached the source of the noise fairly quickly. But all that was left was a small crater and a blue jewel. Eternal and Maggie came to a stop behind Tora. “What happened?” Eternal asked. “I-I don’t know.” Tora stuttered. The golden tiger climbed down into the crater and bent down to pick up the gem. “Wait!” Maggie shouted. The wolf ran over to Tora. “It could be cursed.” Maggie explained. Eternal came over, “I got this.” She pulled out a small cloth and wrapped the gem inside it. “We need to find someone to check this out.”Tora sat down, confused. Maggie crouched down, “Hey Tora, What’s wrong?” the wolf questioned. “What if this what I’ve been predicting?” Tora worried. Eternal sighed, “I’m sure it’s not. Just a coincidence.” the cat breathed out. “What other time has something was ‘just a coincidence’?” Tora growled, holding her own head in her hands. “Fine! We will go see if this is cursed and if it’s not then it will prove I’m right!” Eternal snapped. Tora growled out, “Fine.”
They began their trek out of the forest. Steamed on the argument she and Eternal had, Tora sprinted out and left the other two behind. “Tora!” Maggie shouted, about to run after her, but Eternal held her back. “She obviously wants to be alone. She doesn’t like being proved wrong.” Eternal deadpanned. The arctic wolf nodded and stayed with the Mobian.
Tora shoved through the brush, panting heavily. She looked up into the sky, seeing the sun is about to set. She stumbled in panic. “It’s already night?!” she snarled in frustration. Tonight... was a full moon. The nights Tora always dreads. She let out an animalistic roar, as she grew twice in size. She claws grew. She let out a few painful whimpers and growled. Something had caught her attention, an interesting scent. It was metallic with a small hint of cinnamon. Tora took in a deep breath and followed the scent.
She found the source of it. It was the gem, hidden in Eternal’s pocket. Only, Tora saw more than her two companions. She saw a child, no more than five years of age. The child had beautiful blue hair, the same color of the gem. The girl had a white dress with a green bow tied around her waist, and her brown eyes had tears leaking out. She reached for Eternal’s hand, but snatched her hand back, as if she was afraid of something.
Tora followed her friends, watching the child intently, being sure that she made no noise. The entire time, the duo never took notice to the child, it was as if they couldn’t see her. Tora slowly approached her companions. One of her claws scraped a rock, making a small noise. Eternal hastily turned around, seeing Tora and attacks. Tora holds up her massive paws, in defense. Eternal quickly pulls out a dagger and shoves it into the pad of her paw. Tora roared in pain but didn’t attack back. Eternal learned that she wasn’t a threat, and stopped attacking. “Tora? Is that you?” Maggie asked. The tiger-beast nodded.
