Dominance
Isla Sorna was relatively quiet that night. The calls of the Brachiosaurs and the squeaks of the Troodon were stifled by the heavy night air. Occasionally, a Pteranodon or two would fly over the thick jungle canopy, then vanish into the fog.
Out of nowhere, a high-pitched roar burst from below the trees. A loud, fearful honk followed it. The sounds of fleeing footsteps rumbled through the forest floor.
A Spinosaurus was running through the jungle. It was running faster than it normally would, chasing after an Edmontosaurus. The Edmontosaurus let out a terrified honk and ran until it tripped over a log. The Spinosaurus seemed victorious and roared proudly at its prize.
As it lowered its head to deliver the death blow, a massive pair of jaws came out of nowhere and plucked the Edmontosaurus off the ground. The jaws shook, then dropped the dead dinosaur. The Spinosaurus shrieked in fright and ran for its life. The predator ran until it became cornered near a thicket of trees. There was a look in its normally strong eyes that betrayed its fear. Clearly, it was terrified of what was coming.
A low, bellowing roar exploded into the night and something burst from the trees behind the Spinosaurus. A monstrous Tyrannosaurus rex, taller and larger than the Spinosaurus (or any predator on the island for that matter), crashed through the thicket and attacked the horrified Spinosaurus. The smaller predator tried to bite at the T-Rex's jaw, but the T-Rex was faster. It bit down hard on the Spinosaurus' neck, making the dinosaur screech in fright. The T-Rex then twisted its head and a gruesome crunching noise resonated through the forest. The Spinosaurus went silent and fell to the ground. The T-Rex lifted its head and roared into the night before ripping its prey apart, crunching bone and tearing flesh. It would leave the Edmontosaurus for later.
