Chapter 9
It felt like time had stopped. It seemed like there was nobody else in the world except Mica and I.It took me a while to realise that he was kissing me. My crush. Mica. The thought made me feel extremely light-headed.
When the kiss ended, he took a deep breath.
"I love you, you know I do." Mica said.
"Really?" I asked uncertainly.
Nobody has ever told me they loved me before. All the boys would make fun of me by saying in stupid voices that they loved me, then yelling that nobody would ever love me.
"Yes, really." Mica reassured me.
"Why, though? I'm hardly anything special." I said.
"You're special to me." he said, then he blushed.
"Aww. But everyone else hates me. They say I'm ugly and weird." I told him sadly.
"Who cares what they think? Because I don't." Mica said.
"Sometimes I care, though." I muttered.
"Well, you really shouldn't. All that you have to do is be true to you. That's all you ever need to know." he told me.
"I guess so." I said.
We sat in silence for a few minutes. It's getting dark soon. It's the middle of winter, and the air is chilly. I snuggled up to Mica and he holds me close.
"Victoria, you know that song I wrote?" he said, breaking the silence.
"Yeah?" I said.
"I. . .I wrote it about you." Mica blurted out.
