King Blade 2
King Blade was frantic. He and his queen had not seen his daughter for many hours. Worse, unearthly screams had begun to ring through the woods where his very daughter, his precious daughter, had walked into. Then the caterwauls stopped. Just stopped. Silence. But an ominous feeling crept into his mind. “Don’t let it be her…” he moaned.“Darling, you really must rest,” Queen Jade crooned, with a voice as soothing as honey. But the King could not be soothed. He paced even faster in the Grand Cave. His breathing became quick and short. But his mate seized his shoulders in her emerald talons, while her viridescent eyes gazed into his, full of concern. She whispered, “I’m worried for you. You have been strained and stressed. But aren’t you being a bit paranoid? What is the likeness of that being our daughter?” King Blade didn’t look convinced, so she continued.” Think about it. She may just be upset you didn’t tell her about the Corruptor. Maybe she just snuck in back and went into her room. Don’t worry. She is fine. Let’s just go to sleep,” she trilled. The king reluctantly followed, allowing himself to be towed behind his queen, up into the higher levels of the Flame palace. They crept into their sleeping den. King Blade soon drifted into the hazy moments that were in between awake and asleep. “Yes, yes, she’s okay.” he murmured. Because she was. She was okay. Wasn’t she?
