The Dance Committee
Avery's POV(Cliff)
After school let out, I dragged Libby to the cafeteria where the rest of the dance committee. This included Chryssie, Sarah, Ian, Cliff, Ryan, Dawn, and me. Ryan was one of Ian's friends. He had shaggy, dirty blond hair and green eyes.
Chryssie had bright blond hair in pigtails, shiny blue eyes, a natural blush, and a constant smile. She was always in a happy mood and nice to everyone. But the first thing she'd told me was that she wanted to work alone. It turns out she was an amazing artist and she made awesome decorations for us. She was independent, eccentric, and interesting.
Cliff and Ryan were in charge of food. I'd given them 50 bucks and told them to make sure that everyone was fed by the end of the night. They were bent over the different receipts that they had ordered. Cliff said the food was going to be delicious, and I trusted him. After all, the guy loved food.
Dawn (and usually Aaron) were in charge of finances. I was so glad Aaron couldn't make it today. I wouldn't have been able to face him! Everyone reported their purchases to them and they made sure we didn't go over our budget.
Dawn was pale, with wavy brown hair and dark blue eyes. She was Eva's friend/servant (there isn't really a difference when it comes to Eva), but was actually really nice. Sometime, I wanted to help her stand up for herself against Eva.
Anyways, I was the coordinator. We'd voted on the first meeting. Basically, if we failed, it was my fault.
Sarah and Ian were in charge of music. So far we'd gotten nowhere. Now, with my idea fresh in my mind, I beckoned Libby over. She looked nervous.
"This is Libby." I told Sarah and Ian. I could see Libby blush.
"She's amazing at singing and I had an idea for our music."
"What?" asked Sarah. Ian was silent, staring at Libby like a lost puppy.
"You guys could start a band and perform! Cliff could too!"
"Um," Sarah looked skeptical. "We won't have time to learn enough songs."
I wasn't about to get shot down now. "You guys can figure out which songs you all know. Get about six songs. We can blast a playlist for the rest of the night. Come ON! It's perfect!"
Ian came to his senses and stopped staring (finally!). "I'm all for it. Why not?"
Sarah still looked skeptical. "Cliff?" she called. He came over and Sarah explained our situation.
"Well...drumming? In front of people? I don't think so..."
"Come on!"
"OK...fine."
"Sarah? Please?"
Seeing that both Cliff and Ian had agreed, Sarah sighed and relented. Now only Libby needed convincing.
"Libby, you got to do this!"
Libby looked pained. "Look, you don't understand. Eva sort of, well, ruined me. I can't do it."
So Eva was behind this? Figures. That girl is SUCH a bully!
"Yes you can! Show Eva that she shouldn't have messed with you. Show her!"
"I-I can't."
Ian looked strained at this point. "You can Libby," he whispered.
"Ok..."
Oh, so Ian says one little thing and she says yes? The power of the crush I guess...
