Time to Actually Listen...

Emma's POV

I watched Ian run away, tears forming in my eyes. Lexi was right. Ian didn't like me at all. Why had I made such a fool of myself? What was wrong with me?

"Are you OK?" came a whisper. Avery. I whirled around and there they were.

"You were spying on me?!"

Avery sighed. "Well, sort of. We came to warn you."

I guess I crack right about then. I turned to Lexi. "Well lucky you! You were right! Ian doesn't like me. Go knock yourself out!"

Lexi sighed. "Emma, just listen, please."

"Listen to what?!"

Lexi ignored me. "As I was trying to tell you, I don't like Ian. DON'T INTERRUPT, please. I don't like him, Libby Collins does.

"Who?"

"Shy, long brown hair, turquoise eyes?"

"Never heard of her. You made her up, didn't you?"

"No, NO. Please just trust me." Lexi told me Libby's story, with help from Avery.

As I listened, I began to realize what a GIGANTIC JERK I'd been.

"So, yeah. That's basically it..."

"Lexi. I'm so, so sorry!"

"S'okay..."
