Chapter 3, Silly Neighbors

Chapter 3, Silly Neighbors Dawn hopped up to the window. Then the girl open the window, and Dawn leaned away. After a moment Dawn looked again.

Dawn saw the girl's mother trying to attack Fuzz. Fuzz was yowling for help.

Dawn climbed out the window and then down the wall.

"Fuzz! What's going on here," yelled Dawn.

"I was trying to call for you, and this person attacked me!" Fuzz yelled back.

"You probably weren't heard by anyone else," replied Dawn calmly. "I'll talk to you later Fuzz."

"Making me leave after all my effort?" Fuzz said.

"Get yourself out of trouble silly fur-ball," Dawn retorted.

  "Oh fine," said Fuzz.

Dawn thought she would go for a walk; she was already outside after all. She wandered about the neighborhood, though she didn't see any other cats.

At close to mid-day she decided to visit Fuzz. As she approached his house, Fuzz appeared apparently from nowhere.

"What took so long?" said Fuzz. "Never mind it doesn't matter." "Follow me."

At that Fuzz ran around the back of the house. Dawn followed cautiously.

Then they were nose-to-nose with a grey and gold she-cat. The she-cat seemed somehow familiar.

"Dawn this is the she cat I told you about yesterday," said Fuzz.

Dawn looked carefully at the other she-cat. The cat had long, silky fur like Dawn's, only dirtier. The she cat was also thin with muscular legs.

"Are you just going to stare at me?" asked the other she cat impatiently.

"I'm sorry," said Dawn. "I'm Dawn, and I'm very new around here."

"Well I hope Ebony doesn't catch you alone for a while," replied the other cat. "I'm Dusk, funny huh?"

"Yeah that is a little ironic," said Dawn feeling more confident.

"Well come visit again sometime, guys," Dusk said seeming more friendly.

Dawn left first and was away before anyone could stop her. Part way down the street she saw a light orange cat.

The cat turned and looked at her. Then the cat started walking toward Dawn.

"Hello, I've not seen you before," the cat said. "I'm Rose who are you."

"I'm Dawn, nice to meet you," Dawn replied.

"Oh thanks, want to know about the neighborhood?," Rose asked.

"No thanks, I've already had a tour from Fuzz," said Dawn politely.

"Oh okay, bye then," said Rose.

   Rose ran off suddenly.

The neighbors sure are funny thought Dawn.
