Chapter 4, A Big Surprise

Chapter 4, A Big Surprise Dawns dreams were different tonight. She did not dream of the horrible things she had seen for three months. Instead she saw the Ancients land of night once more. She waited by the river like last time.

"Greetings Dawn," said Rock as he appeared.

"Rock why are my dreams different tonight?" asked Dawn.

"There is a shadow hanging over the town," replied Rock. "And the evil will soon be released."

"Rock what-," Dawn began, but Rock had already left.

Dawn sighed and waited to wake up. Eventually the darkness turned into daylight.

Dawn was laying in her cat bed as normal. She groomed herself, then went out the new cat door. Fuzz was waiting outside silently for once.

"Good morning," said Fuzz. Fuzz's voice sounded richer than three months before, and his fuzzy paws weren't as odd looking.

"Good morning to you too," said Dawn, touching noses.

"Well Dawn I fond a cool place just outside the city." "I thought we could go there," said Fuzz.

   "Okay then," replied Dawn.

They walked to the edge of a field with a lone tree. For a while they played like young kittens again, and Dawn forgot her dreams. The two young cats eventually curled up under the tree.

A rabbit suddenly bolted from cover, and Dawn instinctively chased it. Dawn ran the rabbit down down and slayed it. Then she bit into the rabbit. She determined that it tasted better than cat food.

"Are you really eating it?" laughed Fuzz.

"It's better than cat food, I promise," responded Dawn.

"Well I'll just have to see if you're right," retorted Fuzz.

With that Fuzz walked right over and bit into the rabbit too. He must have thought it was better than cat food too. They both finished the last of the rabbit.

That's how the days went for a while, only Dawn had no dreams at night.

One day they met at the field and Dawn got there first. She wonder at that, because Fuzz always got there first.

A while later Fuzz came up. He was holding a teal flower. Dawn thought he looked ridiculous.

When Fuzz got the tree he said,"Dawn, will you be my mate?"

Dawn stared at Fuzz, surprised he actually asked. She had been suspecting it already.

When she didn't answer he looked a little disappointed.

"It's okay, if you refuse," he said sadly.

"It's not that," she said, "I'm just surprised." "But of course I accept."

"Really?" said Fuzz in disbelief. "This is great Dawn, I know we'll be the best pair!"

Dawn smiled at the silly tom cat. Even after all this time he really did act like a kit sometimes.

Fuzz walked Dawn home then he reluctantly went to his own home.

Dawn dreamed of a vague warning.

And two days later the dream made sense.
