Chapter 4

Kyra woke to the sound of her alarm clock blaring in her ear and a dull throbbing in her neck. Her hand moved up to shut it off, she slammed the button and groaned. She blinked her eyes open to see everything completely covered in cobwebs except for the bed and her. She steadied her breathing and slowly sat up, putting her hand to her neck. "ohhh man. Dads going to kill me..." she stood up starting to pull the cobwebs down from the walls.

"if im lucky ill get going before my parents get up" she sighed talking to herself. Throwing a arm full of cobwebs out the window she grabbed her backpack shoving a few books in before pulling her shoes on and a dark blue hoodie over her self. she walked to the kitchen, pulling a apple out of the fruit bowl on the counter shuddering at the memory of the spider.

Kyra walked out the door and into the quiet neighborhood, she started to walk down the road glancing at the forest. she bit into her apple her eyes trained on the ground now. A large black bird flew overhead, screeching what sounded almost like a word. She ducked in fear covering her head and dropping her apple, the raven grabbed it and flew off.

She stood up slowly her eyes as wide as moons. "that was weird, we dont have birds like that around here" she muttered to herself. She continued walking but faster this time. She ran through the school doors just as soon as the bell rang to go to class.
