Her Troubled Past
Staring at the almost naked boy, I noticed his muscular body more than I did when I first saw him. His abs and strong muscles bulging. Shaking my head, I ignored his beautiful body. "How did you know my name?!" I yelled.Ace raised himself up and laughed at me, "I missed how defensive you are around me!" This boy. How did he know me?
"I will ask again. How do you know me!?" I yelled reaching for my pistol towards him. This boy seemed to be part of my past, but why couldn't I remember him?
Noticing his hand reaching out towards me, I looked down to see a picture of three people. One was a little girl that was similar to me. Another was a little boy similar to Ace while the one in the middle was a tall bald headed man in a lab coat. "This is a picture of me, you, and the Professor before everything bad happened."
"Everything bad happened? What the hell does that mean?" I yelled confused. My head started hurting really bad as I heard the voice in my head whisper the words, "Behemoth."
"We were close during the fighting. You would meet me outside the facility, and we would travel to see the Professor. All three of us would make jokes and laugh while the Professor would do test. The day Goliath broke in is the day everything changed. The Professor was running tests when we heard the siren saying a monster had broke in. The Professor tried escorting you to a pod like me, but you broke away and ran to check on your family. I told the Professor I would get you back. When I got there, your family was being ate in front of your eyes. Seeing you cry woke up the monster inside me. I fought the monster until he ran away. I don't remember anything else until now." Ace mentioned telling me stuff I did not remember.
Ace is an old friend of mine? "If you are telling the truth, why can't I remember you?" I asked. The picture makes a lot of sense with his story, but still, why is it I can't remember?
"Maybe the Professor got to you and erased your memory, so the monster inside of you would take longer to come out." Ace shrugged smiling at me with his white teeth.
Now, I have a problem on my hands. What am I going to do with him? I can't take him home, or can I? "You need to come with me." I ordered walking out of the machine.
"Don't I need clothes on?" He added chuckling at me.
"The Professor was not kind enough to give you clothes." I added walking to the back of the base. I heard his bare feet following me as we arrived behind the base. "How am I going to explain you?"
"Long lost brother?" He winked laughing. "No! That would never work!"
"And why not?" I suggested.
"We look nothing alike, Ravvy." Ace mentioned. My head started to bang at the thought of hearing the nickname Ravvy. Who calls someone that? I mean really.
"I will cross that bridge when I get there. Follow me." Pushing the base's back door, I investigated for people and walked in. I had to hurry, so I drug him all the way to Roger's and my room. Now, how will I explain this to Roger? Pressing my radio, I communicated to Roger, "Roger, you there?"
"Of course, Rav. Where are you?"
"I returned back to base. Hurry when you can. We have to talk."
"You are being weird, but ok."
Roger hung up as I went to his closest. Grabbing a black shirt and blue jeans, I threw the clothes at Ace. "Put these on."
"What can't handle this body?" Ace announced pointing to his broad chest. Blushing a little, I bit my lip and rolled my eyes. Conceded much. His blue eyes located on me with amusement.
"You are annoying." I uttered laying on my bed. Closing my eyes, I felt my body grow tired. Maybe the voice was right. Pulling that door open took a lot more out of me than I thought. Relaxing, I suddenly a body lay beside me. Opening my eyes and looking to my right, I noticed Ace's lean blue eyed looking at me with his clothes on.
"You always said that, but you still got so scared during the night." He said as I felt my cheeks blushing. The heck does this dude think he is talking about?! How did he know I get scared when I sleep by myself? I mean I am just afraid I will wake up to being a monster.
"How the heck did you know?" I tried to grow distance between us, but my single size bed did not help with my plan.
"Ravvy, we have known each since we were four. I've been asleep for nine years. I haven't forgot anything." Ace smiled at me. I felt like I could trust him.
"Strange how you look twenty three even though you have been sleeping for nine years." I mentioned rolling my eyes. I felt his hand grip on my chin as he raised my glance to him. My heart started speeding up while I felt my face blushing bright red.
"Do you not like it, Ravvy? I can't help I got to grow up." Ace's blue eyes were locked at me as my heart wanted to pound out of my chest.
"S-Stop it!" I looked away trying to hide my embarrassment.
Laughing, I glanced to see his smile locked on me. "You could never be that big bad girl around me like you can with others, darling."
"Why are you so nice to me? You hardly know me any more, and I don't know you." I commented turning around from him.
"You do know me, Raven. You just have to remember." Ace pulled our faces close together as I heard the doors open. Jumping off the bed, I looked up to see Roger staring at us confused.
"Um, Raven, who is he?" Roger asked pointing at Ace while he shut and locked the door behind him.
"He is.." Before I could finish, I noticed Ace standing up and walking to Roger with his hand extended out.
"Hello, Roger. The name is Ace. I am Raven's friend from the Aqua base. I apologize for barging in here with out any notification." Ace calmly said with his hand extended for a hand shake. Who the heck is this? Ace completely changed attitudes from how he was with me.
"If you are Raven's friend, I don't care. Strange you haven't mentioned him before, Rav." Roger grabbed Ace's hand and shook back. Roger seemed calm with the new member to our room. Maybe too calm.
"It did not come to mind." I mentioned shaking my head. I could hear the voice commenting as I looked at Roger. 'Food. Food.' All I heard as I ignored the voice.
"Where will he sleep?" Roger asked looking at the two beds. "Also, how will we get away with this?"
"We will.."
Again before I could answer, Ace intervened with an intelligent comment. "I will sleep with Raven. We used to do it before we got separated. Also, do not worry about the director. I'm sure this won't be a long visit. Our little secret." His attitude was so cold and hateful. So different from how I first met him.
"If you say so. You ok with this, Rav?" Roger looked at me with his green eyes beaming in concern.
Smiling, I looked at Roger with a smile, "Of course!" Handing him my I.D., I smiled and asked, "Will you go get us some food? Ace will eat with me." Roger nodded his head and walked out the door. Breathing out, I felt my body fully relax. "That was close."
"I don't trust him." Ace announced glaring at me with a cold look.
"Why is that? Roger is ok." I asked strangely. Nothing is wrong with Roger. Maybe he is a little immature.
"How long have you known Roger?" Ace asked glaring at with with his blue eyes locked on me. Why does his gaze send my heart into such a rush of energy?
"Since we were three. Why?" I grew confused. What is Ace talking about?
"You never mentioned a friend named Roger to the Professor or me." I noticed his dark gaze lowering as he began to think. "What do you remember of the past?"
"All I can remember is really when Goliath appeared. Everything else is a blur. Therapist said it could be my brain could be protecting me from good memories due to its trauma state." I added still confused over what is going on. Why does my past have to do with Roger?
A chuckle emerged from his lips as a sly smirk curved on his face. "Maybe there is nothing to worry about, Ravvy." Ace returned back to his normal self, but still why was he being so weird? "Have you told him about us? What we eat? I don't think I can eat that crap."
A giggled emerged from my lips as I responded, "I normally just pretend to eat it and feast when I go out." My stomach growled as I looked at the clock on my radio. A full day since my last meal. I am under high alert as it is. One day of no food is my punishment for being stupid.
"This is going to be hard. I think I am just going to sleep. Care to join?" Ace offered pulling the sheets off as he crawled in.
"But what about food?" I mentioned standing beside the bed.
"Do you really want it?" He commented pulling a side for me to crawl in. Ace was right. I hated the food here. Crawling beside him, I felt his muscular arms wrap around me. "I missed you, Raven"
