Forty-Six

Forty-Six

In a corrupt land called Quiara, everything it's citizens do is closely monitored and freedom is all but absent. It will take the courage of a small (but growing) group of rebels called the 46 (the meaning of life) to save Quiara and bring it back to it's former glory.

The Story of Quiara

The Story of Quiara A long, long time ago, Earth was in a horrible, raging war. People were dying, mobs ruled the streets, and nobody was really "winning".

For years, the world was just a raging wasteland, until some of the survivors began a society, which they named, Quiara. Over the years, the Earth healed, bringing back the animals, and the nature, but Quiara remained the only civilization (that's what The Team says anyways; I doubt it. ANYWAYS...)

Quiara was as close to perfect as anything could ever be. The original founders named themselves The Team, and they controlled Quiara solely, but they always listened to the citizens. They even had people get a job called "The Deciders" who let people vote what they wanted to happen in Quiara, and who should earn which job.

Scholars (like me and Dawn and Jaime) collected and created books, which were stored in the Halls of Knowledge.

Knowledge Testers (like Matt), tested what the children knew. They also taught the children.

The only job that the citizens had no power over was Team Members. It was all very mysterious...

Unbeknownst to the the citizens, The Team was becoming greedy and corrupt. They fed on on power, and what they had then was not enough.

They started imposing horrible rules, that they called "Amendments".

First they took away the fictional books in the Hall Of Knowledge, saying they were "unhelpful".

Then they took away the game that some citizen kids were making and publishing with the help of some rebels.

After that, they destroyed all things that rebels were making, keeping only the propaganda.

Finally, they started publicly executing rebels they found. Well, not exactly. The Team never actually showed themselves...we weren't even sure they were human. They just left the corpses on the ground at City Square and then the the dead rebels disappeared forever the next day.

There was a girl who lived in Quiara, who desperately wanted to be a rebel. A girl who believed Quiara could be almost-perfect, who also believed they could over-throw The Team.

So unknown to her parents, she started a rebel organization, which she called Forty-Six. Her best friends immediately joined, and slowly and carefully, they informed other rebel teens.

She called it Forty-Six, which she had found in an old book from before the almost-apocalypse. It was the meaning of life.

Knowing her parents would be Banished if Forty-Six was found out, she left home forever one day, only finding out weeks later, her parents had been banished because they had rebelled. Hate for The Team surged into her, and she vowed to get vengeance.

The girl moved into the fringes of the "endless" woods around Quiara. When she did that, she remembered something she'd witnessed a few years back. A group of rebels had decided to brave the woods and find out what lay beyond.

The girl had been tempted, so tempted to go, especially when a rebel told her, "I can't stay here. I'd rather live the hard life, free, than life the "perfect" life, without."

But duty held her back. Love kept her going. And she was going make a rebellion, she promised, and bring back what was her's and the citizens.

That was my story so far...but what was next?
