Careful What You Wish For

A deep wave of hurt coursed through Amy as she walked through the crowds  of campers laughing, chatting and greeting one another like the long lost friends they were. She knew she shouldn't have come back to camp this year. She knew those girls would still be horrible towards her. She thought she could start over with them, that maybe this summer could be different. But it wasn't going to be different, was it? She wished she could call someone to take her home. Cream and Vanilla were on vacation but they had paid for her to come to camp so she wouldn't be lonely because she didn't have any other friends who weren't already here. So she couldn't go home. She was at camp for the whole summer whether she liked it or not. So far, she didn't like it at all.
"I wish..." She muttered. What did she wish? "I wish those snotty girls would go away and never come back!" Stumbling over a pine cone she bit her lip to keep herself from bursting into tears as she climbed up the hill towards their bunk.
