Summer Camp Story

Rivalry

Everyone had returned to the cabin, Blaze assigned chores and everyone picked beds. Amy and Wave argued over the top bunk while everyone else was unpacking. The tension in the room was extremely high, there were a lot of sighs and frowns. They soon all went down to dinner. The happy atmosphere that usually follows the group had just disappeared. Vector made some announcements.
"This year, we're having a sports day!" He yells into the microphone.
"I might try it out!" Sapphire announced. "The running race, of course."
"I might too!" Maria giggled. "See you on the track!"
"Well, I'm going to as well" Wave scowled. "Give the brats a run for their money.." She muttered the last part but everyone still heard her. Sapphire paled but Maria laughed.
"Maybe we can all win! We'll all be first, second and third" Wave scowled again.
"Whatever"
"You'll all have a challenge if Yamilette decides to get involved, she's as fast as Sonic!" Amy states and Yamilette chuckles.
"It's true!" She states with a hair flip as the other girls giggle.

Dinner had ended. Darkness crept across the camp as thunder rumbled in the distance and Lili wondered if Blaze would cancel the planned Midnight hike. But no, within minutes the group had gathered outside the cabin under the full moon and Lili's hope rose a tad.
"Don't forget, everyone needed to remain silent as we walk, so we can hear the wildlife." Blaze said. She flicked a switch on her touch and the light beam reminded Victoria of the moon. They started hiking. It was completely silent. Electra made her way over to Lili.
"Negro does like you, Lili" she whispers. Lilli smiled weakly.
"So you saw?"
"Yeah, I saw them talk. Then I saw him leave her to talk to you"
"She just had this smug grin on her face-"
"Lili, this is Amy we are talking about! Of course she would have, it doesn't mean anything!" Electra said. Lilli smiled st her friend.
"Hey, ugh, thanks" She whispered and Electra nodded before jogging off to talk to Red. Maybe camp won't be SO bad?

Across the lake, Domanic tipped his binoculars towards his eyes. Hard to do with only one arm.
"I wonder what they're doing.."
"It doesn't matter, here, help me with this!" Domanic gazed at his friend to see him holding a cracked running board.
"We aren't fixing that tonight, it's too late at night" His eyes slowly wondered towards the lake.
"The lake is quiet tonight." Surge stopped what he was doing and his eyes also directed towards the late.
"Too quiet"
