How to Create a Good Warriors OC

How to Create a Good Warriors OC

I've been thinking of doing this for a while now. There are some really strange cats and names out there, and if you want to check them out, Google up Bad Warriors Names or The Worst Warriors. I will show ya how to make a solid, believable character

The Names.

➟ Before we start, to anyone against that type of naming out there, this is all a suggestion if you want to sound realistic plus it's loads of fun to name your cat after its looks and skills. Don't hate please!

➟ Picture your cat. Let's have a decent prefix for it, tortoiseshells are hard to name so let's go with a white cat. White-, Swan-, Frost-, Snow- are all popular options. Why? The warriors commonly see them in their world, and they are all pure white. So why bother with Arctic- or Frozen-? Arctic is a large terrain with all sorts of colors, including gray. Frozen- will not describe a cat as well as Frost-, frozen is a state of being. And it's sorta mean to name a kitten Frozenkit. What comes to mind is a kit that doesn't move.

➟ Now go Google up For Traditional Naming Guidance. Check out the blog's Almighty List of Prefixes and find the highlighted color of cat you want. Mine's a tortoiseshell so I scroll down until I find that. I click Cherry- under it, and it turns out to be a suitable prefix for pretty much any type of tortoiseshell after I read the description. I don't want my name to be too broad, so I check some options until I find a name for a mainly golden or brown tortie. My best options are Maple- or Trout-, but Maple- can be also used for light ginger cats, so go for Trout-. You think this doesn't sound nice? I could've always picked Cherry- and that is rather nice if you ask me. So go ahead and pick a name you like.

➟ Now stop right here. I know what you're thinking. You can't find Feather-, Bird-, Flower-, Soul-, Moon-, Pool-, Bird- or whatever. Check out the Non-Traditional Prefixes section and read about how they don't work. Go ahead, it all makes sense now. Don't feel too bad, I had a cat called Feathermist, who is now renamed to Minnowheart.

➟ Before we go on, focus on your cat's biggest skill or personality trait. Are they unpredictable, explosive and have mood swings? Calls for a -storm cat. Is your cat a super fast runner? Go for -foot. No special stuff about your plain kitty? -pelt, -fur and -stripe are still options. So you might wanna browse the Hallowed Collection of Suffixes, see how they work and attach! Don't see your beloved -spirit or -blaze or -frost? Go ahead and check out the Non-Traditional Suffixes.

➟ I'm sure Velvetnight sounds pretty, but traditional names can be pretty too, like Dawnleaf or Duskheart. Isn't that bad, huh?

➟ My cat is a very good tracker, so I go for the rather cute prefix -nose. Troutnose is now my cat's name.

how are we supposed to think of a personality without copying yours, when we had 1 n mind and it was THE SAMETHING and every time I try t think of another personality, I cant because it has something to do with the others!!!!! :((:((:((:((:((:((

You can have some traits another person used in their personality, but as long as you add some twists of your own, it's fine! [Sorry if I answered wrong, I really don't understand the middle part of this post].

I have three main OC's. See what you think:

Acornwish - Black and brown tabby she-cat with one black ear and black front paws.
- Medicine Cat
- Good at climbing and healing

Shadowmane - Black and brown tabby tom with thick, black fur around his shoulders. See More

If you go for lyrical names, that's fine by me. If I were to rate them I would probably begin a rant on how they aren't Traditional and how you can make them Traditional, and because you think a name doesn't have to describe the talents of a cat I'm not going to give you suffix suggestions. If you want some color suggestions tough, Acorn- is more of a light brown/golden See More

I have a Warriors OC named Spottedfeather, and another one named Robinfoot :)
reply
I'm a little against -feather, it does no job describing the cat's skill but I must admit it sound pretty! Robinfoot is great, it your cat is ginger, brown or tortoiseshell, and -foot would most likely mean it's a fast cat. Well done on the names!
reply
You could use Spottedtail, it is a good name for an agile or good-climbing cat that is...well...spotted! You also keep your fave charrie parts, you know, FeatherTAIL.
