Scores
Jake came out of the scoring test looking shaken. It was my turn now. I stepped into the room.Several people sat in a small balcony room studying me carefully. I grabbed one of the silver knifes on the shelf and threw
It at the target.
It hit the bulls eye. I smiled. The next one didn't go so well. It missed the target my a foot and scattered in the ground.
I threw one more and it landed on the bulls eye again. "Thanks..." I said. I awkwardly bowed and walked out of the room.
"What did you do?" I asked Jake. "I'm not supposed to say..." He started. We walked quietly to the rooms.
A sudden flashback popped into my mind. I was walking with a boy, my best friend Connor. I remembered that was the day before the reaping.
He held my hand and promised I wouldn't be picked. I missed him so much... I pushed the thought away
I was in my room when Kalee urgently knocked on my door. "The scores are in!" She exclaimed.
I ran out and sat in a large couch, where Jake and my mentor, Dawn sat. I looked at the screen.
Area 1:
Rassor : 9
Lindsay: 9
Area: 2 ( I held my breath)
Jake: 8
Sarah: 7
I didn't listen to the rest. I had done pretty bad... Jake did better than me. Dawn looked at me.
"You did better than others." She tried to encourage me. I sighed and headed into my room to watch the sunset.
There was a loud knock on the door. "What do you want?" I said. "Um... We kinda need a strategy for the arena." Jake's voice said.
