a lot of people from this website probably know me from one of the various accounts i’ve used since i joined in early 2015. some of the usernames i’ve gone by include breann.west.5, sherlocked, roger.the.boi, silly.goose, twinkle.dinkles, jarethgetspegged, and more. in 2017, i encountered a user on here, “owen” (omerrustimegod), who i befriended. i was around 13 or 14 at the time, he said he was sixteen (keep these ages in mind) this friendship started out innocent enough, we would role play different scenarios and for the post part he was pretty chill. however, after we got to know one another better, things got really weird, he would make sexual advances during our role playing games, and he would constantly ask me out and then threaten suicide when i turned him down. and once i posted a picture of myself wearing shorts and a long sleeved shirt, going to see my friends in a musical my freshman year, and he made a comment along the lines of “nice ass”. these instances went on for months because i was too afraid to speak up against him. also, at one point he showed me a picture of his face and was very clearly NOT a sixteen year old boy, but probably somewhere in his mid to late twenties???
i wanted to see how far he would go, so i made a bait account disguised as a 10 year old girl, befriended him, and within a week he’d taken the bait and was making sexual advances towards a supposed child. i reported the screenshots to qfeast and i think someone brought it to the police, his account was removed, and i don’t think he ever came back.
as someone who was a direct victim of online sexual abuse and grooming on this website i think that’s important for us to take action. because this is such a small and unmonitored website, and mostly composed of a young audience (14<) it’s an easy place for predators like owen to find victims. whether you want to admit it or not, people under 14 are gullible. i was and looking back, interacting with predators online ruined my childhood.
