the Price of Life

This is a story about two sisters. Their names are Hi and Yoru. Day and Night. They are stuck in a wilderness, trying to find civilization, only to find they are trapped in an alternate dimension. There are small groups of others who have been drugged and brought here to that place, called Htrae, as punishment for crimes unknown, and all they have are their matching lockets, given to them by their kidnapped father. The last thing you expect when you clicked and started reading is that they're shape shifters.

Calm down, I'm scared

     >fourteen days later<

     We had settled down, but We were scared. At every chance, we hunted and caught whatever we could find, even if they didn't look like Earthly things. Hi had been working on a house-like building we could live in and not be in danger.

     "Yoru! Get me more branches, and thorn tendrils! This has to be protected," Hi cawed to me. We were both eagles, and she was building the last part of our new home; the roof. I did a quick wing-stretch, then bolted into the shadows in search of supplies. As I entered the darkness, I was seized by a sudden panic. Neither of us had been here before. I quickly turned back and brought back some of what might of been bracken if not for its flexible, purple wood.
