Redik's arc - Chapter 3:I wanted action...

Suddenly I heard a rumble, like something just landed near us. We were in a cave in that moment, and the roof trembled, so I took Hino and run out, just in time to avoid to be smashed by the roof of the cave.
I wanted action...why can't I shut up...
"Objective acquired"
I turned back, there was a robot, and it was pointing us with a laser.
"Damn..." I jumped sideways, dodging the bullet storm that was going out from the robot's arm.I run behind a fallen tree and put down Hino
"Stay here.I'll take this one."
"Redik..."
"Don't worry"I smiled to her to reassure her, but I was worried.This was the first battle in years all by myself,I could be out of shape.
I run towards the robot, but it was still pointing Hino. "Hey, don't distract!" I punched right in its head, but it seemed like I didn't any damage.
"Retrieve Female Mobian"
"Hey stupid piece of trash, I'm here!" It wasn't listening to me, like I wasn't there. "Hino! Run!"
She started run, and the robot fired some rockets. I managed to save Hino, when a laser hit me at the right leg, piercing it.
"Redik, your leg..." Hino was worried for me, but I hadn't time to reassure her.
"Is this all? Show me what else you got there!"I have to distract it from Hino.
I was barely standing, the pain in the leg was growing.
The robot fired from its eye the laser again. I took Hino and jumped over it, but that can turned very fast, and hit me in the back.
This time I screamed for the pain, but I was still standing.
The next time...I won't complain the absence of action.
I was terribly out of shape, I admit that. Another laser, this time I wasn't able to do a single step, only a move with the arm to parry it.
In an istant I closed my eyes, thinking that will be the end...but nothing happened.I opened my eyes, and discovered that my right arm was surrounded by a red aura.It was back...after three years I was able to summon it again.
Both the robot and Hino was staring my arm.So I took advantage of this, and using the left leg I leaped and struck that piece of trash in the face,where it had the optical sensors,living a deep mark of my fist on it and blinding it.
The robot started to fire bullets, rockets and laser in all directions for some seconds, until I extracted its core from the chest.
"Eheh, hey Hino I told you to not...Hino!" Hino was holding her bleeding arm.She had been hit by a bullet..."Hino are you ok?"
She smiled "I'm fine, don't worry. It's only a light wound"
"...Let me see it." I don't know much about medicine but maybe I can do something.
"O-ok..." She took off the jacket, revealing a wound on her left arm. Thank god...it's really a light wound.
Luckily there was a little river near, so I cleaned Hino's wound and bandaged it.
"Th-thanks..."
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"You...you got hurt because of me...I'm so sorry..."
"What? No, no that's not-"
"You got hurt because you were saving me!I'm..." she started to cry "Like the last time...I'm good only to make people hurt..."
I hugged her "Hey...hey, it's ok...it's all ok...we're fine..."
She looked at me,with the big ruby eyes weeping.I gently wiped her tears away. "Come on, stop crying.Make a smile, would you do it for me?"
She smiled. "This is the Hino I know"
She giggled "...Thank you Redik"
"You're welcome.Come on, we have to go"
"But you're hurt..."She put her hands on my leg "Grandpa Bard always told me to not use this power...but I'll do this time."
Her hands emitted a warm light, and my leg...healed. "What...how can you do this?" She didn't listened, and healed my back.
"I'm sorry for your jacket..."
"Don't worry about it,rather ,how can you do that?"
"When I do this...I share my own...life...energy..." She fainted, but I catch her before falling.
She's sharing her own life energy...with me?
I started to walk, holding Hino in my arms. I found another cave, and lied her gently on the ground.
I stayed out of the cave, doing the guard, thinking.
Damn...in that ambush we lost our backpacks...I have to find something to eat. I went, but I returned with...nothing but some berries...
I'll save these for Hino. Hino...I lied near her, and she hugged me in the sleep...and I did the same wih her "...Thanks Hino..."
"...Dad...Mum..."
"...Don't worry, I won't let anything bad happen to you.That's a promise."
