Redik's arc - Chapter 2:Leaving the nest

I woke up...Hino was still between my arms, sleeping.
I decided to let her sleep, at least I had time to think in this way.
Where are the others now...are they safe? Images of them captured or killed invaded my mind. I shook my head to make them go away, but I woke Hino up.
"Huh...?What..."
"Sorry, I woke you up."
She...just stood there, without move, without speak, maybe still half asleep.Then she snuggled even more, a thing that surprised me.
"Good morning Redik"She said with a smile.
"Good...morning"
I went down the stairs, and saw Bard
"Good morning boy, did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, thank you"
"Are you hungry?" Rosie was already in the kitchen, preparing the breakfast.
"No thanks"
These people...it's like Eggman never existed for them...like he never tried to conquer Mobius.
Hino went down, and greeted Bard and Rose with a kiss on the cheeck.
"Thank you for your hospitality, but now I will go."
"What?Boy, you can't"
"You said until..."
"Until the storm ends, I know. But the fact is that storms here last weeks."
"What?! Weeks?!"
"Grandpa, maybe I can accompany him, I'm big enough to..."
"Hino, dear, you're still too young.You can't..."
"But I'm already 16!I can do it."
"Bard, listen to her, she's right.We can't hold her here forever."
"...Ok...You can go..."
I was a little confused "I...I don't get why I need someone who accompany me"
"...In this woods we have a rule: never go out alone with a storm" replied Bard
"Why?" I took a look to Hino, and saw that her face turned sad.
"My dad and my mum once were out.Then a storm raged. My dad managed to return, but my mum no.So he went to search her..."She was about to cry,and Rosie hugged her.
"And he never returned." Ended Bard "My son was impulsive, he never listened to the rules.If we had gone in two we would be back for sure."
"...I'm sorry. But I have to go, my friends could be in danger."
"Wait for me."Hino run upstair and came back wearing a winter jacket "Ok I'm ready."
"Are you sure you want to come?"
"Of course!"
"Be careful you two." Rosie gave us two backpacks full of food, water and jackets.
"Th-thanks"Uff, it's heavy...
We went out, and a freezy wind crushed on our faces.We said goodbye to Bard and Rose, and started walk.
In the storm I was able to see only what I had immediately in front of me, and even that barely.Every five minutes I checked behind me, to be sure that Hino was still there, and she was always there.We walked for...I don't know, the time seemed to be freezed. We took break from walking any time we found a cave or a refuge, and every time Hino slept attached to me. Not that I have displeased, but this made me blush every time.I know that was only to not let us die freezed but...that feeling of the first time we slept together...didn't leave me. I need some action...
