chapter 6: part 1
PainChapter 6: SHOPPING SPREE(part 1)
After I got dressed, Jessica and I hopped into her pink and black Camaro.
“OMIGOSH THIS IS MY SONG,” Jessica and I said simultaneously as 1000 Miles came on as we were laughing.
“MAKING MY WAY DOWNTOWN, WALKIN’ FAST, FACES PASS AND I’M HOMEBOUND!
DUN DA DUN DUN DUN DUN ,DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DA DUN DUN DUN!!!”
Jess and I couldn’t help but make the sounds too, so sue us.
“Starin' blankly ahead,Just makin' my way,Makin' a way through the crowd!!!
DUN DA DUN DUN DUN DUN!!
AND I NEED YOU!
DUN DA DUN DUN DUN DUN!!
AND I MISS YOU
DUN DA DUN DUN DUN DUN!!
AND NOW I WONDER…
IF I COULD FALL INTO THE SKY
DO YOU THINK TIME WOULD PASS ME BY?
AND YOU KNOW I’D WALK A THOUSAND MILES IF I COULD JUST SEE YOU…
TONIGHT!!!!!”
Jessica and I were laughing so hard that we didn’t even notice the weird looks we were getting because Jess’s top was down. I also slightly forgot about the pain I felt for the last couple of days. And I know my story so far is slightly like those of the Baudelaire’s, but trust me: I won’t be THAT miserable.
I’m a little nervous for the days to come, to be honest. I don’t know what they’re going to say or do. I just hope I don’t get pity. It took me long enough to get over the loss of my family. The last thing I need is re-opened wounds. But enough of that sad and boring stuff! I’m sure you’re only interested in Jess and I singing (quite loud and horribly), and getting questionable looks from people next to us at the stop lights. So after about 3 horribly sung songs (Fancy, All of Me, Let It Go), we made it to the Galleria. Jess and I practically live here! We know this place like the back of our hands! Our fave store in this haven is Forever 21. That is like our home away from home. But anyway as we walk in, Brit meets us with a hug. She hands me my favorite order from Starbucks: a mocha cookie crumble. The sight instantly makes my eyes water.
“EARTH TO FRICKEN SCARLETT”, Jessica and Brit scream simultaneously at me; breaking me out of my trance. I look at them, a bit angry, might I add.
“Um… you kind of zoned out after you laid eyes on the coffee…” Brit said to me, trying to hold back a smile. That failed attempt started a chain reaction of us busting out in laughter.
“Just hand me my coffee so we can go”, I jokingly yelled to Britt after we sobered up.
This was gonna be a long day!
