Darkness.

I stared at her body, recoiling my hand away from her. She opened her eyes but still did not hug my brother back. Even Ash came to hug her, nothing. She stared at us. "Hello," She said looking at us and rubbing her eyes. "Are you alright?" Gold asked. She nodded, "I guess I fell asleep." She giggles scratching the back of her head. Alexis was 15 and the rest of us were 16. She had brown eyes, a silver flower clip in her hair, a red shirt, blue skirt, black boots with gray felt, a gray scarf, and the tips of her hair were bright red.  She smiled at me but I just kept staring not talking. "Hey babe," Red replied putting an arm around her shoulder. She blushed slightly as Pikachu yelped.

I remembered that day. Cyndaquil was so happy, he walked over to Alexis weakly. She picked him up smiling. Gold smiled also. Alexis gave him his Cyndaquil back. After that we went for ice cream and the five of us departed. We never saw Gold again.

A few months later Gold was reported missing. Red and I saw it on the news drinking our coffee. The only thing that was found was a dead Cyndaquil carcus. I stared at it in horror. Blood smeared on the grass where it lay, it was cut straight down the back. I noticed I had dropped my coffee on my lap but I didn't scream in pain. I couldn't feel anything. Red had the same expression as me. We just sat there, silent.
