CANONICAL SCENE FROM ATTACK OF THE CLONESAnakin's Perspective
//
My fingertips edge closer to her, yearning to feel her soft skin on mine. I swallow the boulder formed within my throat, before inhaling a sharp breath.
“From the moment I met you, all those years ago,” I begin shakily, her big brown eyes looking into mine with caution. “Not a day has gone by where I don’t think of you,” the air in my lungs thickens, choking me. I blink the tears from my eyes, Padme doing the same. The soft candlelight casts the most beautiful shadow across her skin and her eyes. Bringing out warm tones of honey and Earth behind the tears. It’s almost sickening – how beautiful she is. “I’m in agony...!” the words seem aggressive - pushed out between the knots building up in my stomach and chest. Her lips part softly as she shakes her head. I press forward, her moving back in sync. “The closer I get to you the worse it gets,” she takes a small breath, one that almost sounds as if it were hitched deep within her. “The thought of not being with you – I can’t breathe!” biting my trembling lip I once again inch towards her, a feeling rising inside me that brings fear to her soft expression. “I’m haunted by that kiss you should never have given me,” she steals a glance, locking her eyes with mine. “My heart is beating, hoping that that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul – tormenting me – what can I do?” with as much force as I can muster through my forever clouded thoughts, I reach out to her one last time. “I will do anything that you ask…” her chest rises, stopping for a moment as the silence engulfs us. Words lay on the edge of her lips, but as her chest falls, the words seem to disappear. “If you’re suffering as much as I am, please tell me!”
