City of Suits (not completed) By Reid H and Mira H

The entire world has been split into four quadrants. That might seem unbelievable because what you, the reader, knows the population of the world is around 7.8 billion people. Well now the population is around 10,000. In the year 3155 a plague hit known as the Crimson Breath. This deadly plague was known as the Crimson Breath because it would infect you from the inside out and almost seem as if your breath was a crimson color, and it was. This was so deadly that if there was someone, even within ten feet of you, they would get the plague too.

Chapter 19: Leo

I was quickly awoken a few minutes after I had gotten fully asleep by Georgia shaking my shoulders, seeming frantic. I alertly opened my eyes, though groggily, to see her face close to mine.
All of a sudden, she got closer. I shifted my body so I was sitting, not laying in an awkward position. I didn't know what to do when she planted her lips on mine. I was surprised for a second, then I got used to it. After a minute, we let go.
“That was… AMAZING!” I heard Jamie shout from his little bundle of blankets.
“JAMIE!! Go back to bed! You should be sleeping by now.” Georgia yelled at him.
“And you two shouldn’t?” He said with a triumphant voice. “Why can’t I be up but you two get to do . . . that?”
“This is none of your business right now!” She snapped back at him, glaring in his general direction.
He didn’t say anything else, so I guess she actually got the last word. She turned back to me, her frizzy hair whooshing around. I looked straight into her fierce eyes, and saw a glimmer and gleam in them.
“That was . . . new,” I said awkwardly as I watched her laugh at me. Then, she abruptly leaned in and kissed me again. This time, I grabbed her cheeks and kissed her back. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Georgia’s dad peek from his blanket using one eye. I was guessing he was trying to be discreet, but he didn’t do it well enough.
I pulled away swiftly when I noticed for sure, and silently pointed to him, as he tried to blow off the snooping. He immediately rolled over, which I think was the time where Georgia figured out what he was doing.
“Come on you two!!” she said in an annoyed voice. “Now that we’re all up, should we just get it over with and talk about the obvious elephant in the room?”
Jamie and Georgia’s dad turn over to face us, wide set grins on both of their faces. They both sit up, Jamie leaning on a rock, twiddling his fingers innocently in his lap.
“This is very weird,” I whispered to Georgia. “I don’t really like them staring at us.”
“Yeah, I know,” she muttered back. “But once we get done with this it’ll be better I think.”
She turned back to her family, still seeming to be angry, but a little bit more controlled. We all sat there in silence for a minute, until Georgia finally decided what to say.
“Please understa-” she started before her dad interrupted her, adding quickly before she went in depth.
“Well, I can see you actually did enjoy it, you did it twice!” He said smugly. I immediately felt my cheeks turn hot and red, and although it was less visible I could tell Georgia was just as embarrassed as I was.
“Dad!!” she said angrily, though I could see her trying to hide a smile, even though it was peeking through. In a quick bit, we were all laughing.
“In all seriousness though, I think there is something Georgia wants to say.” I state and gesture to her to go ahead and talk.
“Ahh, Yep. Please just don't make it awkward, this is new to the two of us also. I think we’re going to,” she ended as she glanced at me. “Well, I don’t know what we are yet, and it'll probably take time- private time- to figure it out.” She ended, making sure to emphasize the right words.
“Anyways, we should get to sleep, but we’ll talk tomorrow,” I said, yawning as I do.
“Goodnight everyone.” I said in no general direction.
“Goodnight Georgia,” I said a little quieter, taking one last glance at her before shutting my eyes.
The next day, I woke up early, so it was my turn to shake Georgia awake. She woke up a little slower than I did, but she probably knew there was no immediate urgency.
“Ugh, Leo! It's too early!” She said groggily. “What are we doing anyways?”
I said nothing, but I grabbed her hand and led her off deeper into the woods, showing her a small clearing. There was a huge flower bed, sunlight leaking onto the petals from the treeline.
“You said we’d talk tomorrow in private, and today was, err, is tomorrow, and we’re in private.” I told her in a matter-of-factly voice.
“Yeah, but I never said it at five in the morning!” she said in a mock-anger voice. “Did you even sleep last night?”
“Yes I did, but I was excited by the context of yesterday!” I told her. It was true. I had been thinking about it for a little while, but I never thought it would actually happen.
“Well, what do you think we are now?” She asked me.
“Hmm. so, let's go through the facts. We met each other. We became friends. We got comfortable and confident around each other. We met Apollo. Apollo died. We met your dad. We kissed. That's pretty much it.” I explained to her.
“Yep, that pretty much sums it up.” she tells me, looking into my eyes.
“So, using that, I think that we are now boyfriend and girlfriend, but what do you think?” I ask her, plucking a little yellow and blue flower and putting it behind her ear.
“I think that we are what we are, and that won't change,” she states challengingly.
“I don't get it. What does that mean?” I puzzle her.
“Well, Leo, it means that no matter what label we use, we will just be us,” She explains to me.
“I think we should get back to the camp,” She tells me after a little bit of sitting there. “They might be getting worried about us.”
I slip my hand into hers as we start walking back, smiling all the way there.
