Don't Stop Running

The termination

The trip seemed to just keep going on. Josh sat on a seat thinking. Jackie finally came to, she tried to get up but she was hand cuffed to her seat.
"So finally your awake" Josh spoke to her looking across the VTOL at her. She didn't answer she just looked down. Silence was all there was for the next 10 minutes until Jackie finally spoke and asked Josh "How did you do it?"
Josh looked at her with confusion for second, he then remembered what happened. "Oh you mean the VTOL thing?" He asked her.
"Yeah that's it, do tell" She replied to him.
"Well, I dropped my bow but I put the arrow by my side before I put my hands up" He told her. "The when you guys were arguing I put it under my seat, the boom" The silence was back after he finished then his ear piece came on.
"Josh I'm sorry" Said a male voice, Josh stood up and listened. "Your terminated" The alarms went off in the VTOL. Josh looked out side the door of the VTOL to see a missile coming right for the VTOL. He turned and looked at Jackie who was trying to get the cuffs off. He ran over to her and looked at the cuffs. "Mind you hand" He told her and smashed his foot into the chain of the cuffs. Jackie stood and looked at him "Thanks" she said to him. He nodded at her and turned. But it was too late! The missile hit the side of the VTOL. A piece of metal came straight at Josh and hit him into a wall. Jackie fell to the ground as a piece of metal landed on top of her. The VTOL crashed into a building and went through sitting in the middle of it. Josh slowly woke up after about 5 minutes. There was a huge pain in his arm. He looked over to it. There was a piece of metal in between his chest and his shoulder! He looked around and saw Jackie laying in front of him under some metal but she awake trying to life it. Josh was still wearing his suit. He kicked the metal off Jackie. "You alright?" He asked with pain in his voice.
"Yeah you?" She asked slowly standing up looking at him.
"I can't move" He moved a bit. Jackie looked at his arm. "Yeah just kinda stuck...rip it off"
"What!?" She looked at him and then at his arm again "You'll bleed to death"
"Look right now....we need to go....'cause i bet their coming for us..just do it" He said to her looking right at her. She didn't say anything and walked over to his gripping the metal. She shut her eyes and pull as hard as she could. The metal came out and Josh shouted "ARR GOD DAM" he reached over with his left hand and held his shoulder. Jackie sat down and took out her knife. She cut off her sleeve, she then cut it open. She reached over to Josh and started to wrap it around his shoulder. Josh looked at her "Thanks" he said weakly.
"No problem, you saved me first" She looked at him and stood up putting out her hand. Josh let go of his shoulder and grabbed her hand. Jackie then helped him stand. They looked at each other for a second then nodded. Jackie started to run off trying to find away down and Josh followed slowly. They looked for a while and found some emergency stairs. Josh looked down as Jackie started to go down, he then followed her again. She came to some stairs that had fallen and broken due to the VTOL. They made their way through a door. A VTOL flew past.
"Their here" Josh looked at it as it pasted and drew his sword.
"Seems so but I have a plan" She turned and looked at him.
"And what might that be?" He asked leaning against a wall.
"Well I think if we took a radio off one and used it to call my people they can get us out" She looked around a corner. She then started to head off again with Josh following. "Find them" They heard from just around the next corner. Jackie took out her pistol and looked at Josh's shoulder.
"What?" Josh saw she was looking at it.
"Nothing" She reloaded her pistol. "Just you sure your going to be OK" Josh rolled his eyes and ran around the corner and saw 4 guys. He slide behind a table and flipped it over. Jackie turn around the corner and started shooting at the guys. The guys then began to fire back. Josh jumped over the table and stabbed one right in front of him. He took the sword out and the guys dropped. Jackie saw one pop up and shot him in the head. Josh turned and looked at one who was running at him with a knife. Josh moved back and kicked him on the chest. He then sent his sword into the guy's head. Josh turned and the last one punched him in his wounded shoulder. Josh fell back as the guy then kicked him in the face. Josh was laying on the floor as the guy stood above him and aimed his gun at him. Then the guy just dropped after Jackie had put a bullet in his head. Jackie walked to Josh and put his arm over her shoulder and started to carry him around trying to find a radio. She lent him against a table and looked at one of the dead guy's radios. Josh opened his eyes trying to clear his vision. Jackie fiddled around with the radio and then someone said from it.
"Who is this?" Jackie knew that voice it was her boyfriend Craig.
"Craig!" She sounded relived.
"Jackie is that you?" He replied "Were are you?"
"I don't know were I am so you'll have to trace my location" She told him sounding much calmer. "Also your going to need to bring a med team"
"Why are you hurt?" He asked with concern.
"No but I'm with Josh and his lost his whole arm" She told him looking at Josh again.
"Alright we are coming now just hold out till we get there" He told Jackie. Josh put his sword back on his back, he then took out his pistol.
"So we got to fight then?" He asked her looking over the table.
"Yep hope your ready" She told him reloading her pistol and getting against the table. 5 more guys were coming. They both popped up over the table and began to shot at them. The guys then fired back. Bullets were flying through the around them. Josh shot one in the chest and got down again trying to reload his pistol. He dropped his pistol while trying to reload.
Jackie got down and looked at him "I have an idea here" she handed his some of her of her ammo. "If I shot you reload my gun as the mag drops out" Josh nodded and picked his pistol up and placed it in his holster. He then picked up a mag and put it in Jackie's gun. She looked over the table and started to fire again. They did this for a bit as more and more guys kept coming. They turned hearing a VTOL behind them. The VTOL turned so the back was facing them and it's back opened. Two guys came out with mark 5 suits on and stood in the door way and started to fire at the enemy's near Josh and Jackie. Jackie stood and ran to it. Josh slowly stood and followed her. Jackie stopped near the edge of the building. Josh pasted her and jumped into the VTOL. Jackie went to follow but wasn't going to make it all the way. Josh ran and dived reaching out his hand to her. He caught her and she dangled below the VTOL. The two other guys came over and helped them on to the VTOL as the door closed. One took off his helmet and helped Jackie up. They embraced each other as the other guy helped Josh up.
The guy that was hugging Jackie walked over to Josh "So you must be Josh, you alright?" he asked Josh looking at his shoulder.
Josh nodded and said "Just looked after Jackie I'll be fine till we get were we need to go.
The guy walked off to Jackie "You sure we can trust him?"
"Yes I'm 100% sure, he just saved my life Craig at least think about that" She said hugging him again. Josh sat down and looked at his shoulder. First his legs and now he had one arm and to top it all off he wasn't going to get a new one. He sat back and just looked around. This was that start of a new beginning, a chance to make a difference. The one time he was going to help someone.
