Stranger in the dark

Rain opened the door and walked down the hallway. I followed close behind, trusting his judgement. As we walked I thought about what I might say to them to convince them to stop fighting. Thankfully, before I could ponder it, we heard shouting from a nearby room.
Rain said, "well, I guess we know where they are."
I took a deep breathe and muttered.
"I hope this doesn't turn out like the last time I was with nobles..." I remembered all too clearly what had happened. But without any hesitation, we went in.
Inside there was a huge half circled table, golden chairs lined around it. And within each chair sat a ruler.
Almost immediately we were spotted.
"Who is this!?" a woman shouted. By the color of her clothes and her crown, she was obviously representing fire.
"I have no idea! Never seen him before in my life!" Another girl said, wearing a black dress. I assumed she was with the darkness kingdom.
I took a deep breathe, and began.
"My name is Nightmare, I come from a distant land with intent on peace. Your land is in chaos, ruins you could say, and I have come to fix it."
Almost immediately someone argued with me.
"We have everything under control thank you! We don't need someone who's not even from our land to tell us how to run things." He looked like the Wind Ruler. I sighed and spoke.
"But that's the thing. It's not under control. Your people are slaughtering themselves, gracious leader. In my land we may run things differently, but at least we all have common sense enough not to fight our own people! Now then, with the knowledge I have gained in my lifetime, I would be surprised if you would not wish me as an ally."
"After all", I added, "You are in dire need of support."
They all looked at me, thinking.
"I suppose he would be useful." Said a man with a flower crown on his head.
"He doesn't get my vote." The fire queen glared at me.
"Well I vote for support." Said the darkness ruler.
"So do I." The earth ruler said.
"Fine... I suppose he gets mine." The flaming queen said, finally relenting.
"I vote also." the light leader said.
I nodded.
"Now then, one of your citizens has explained the chaos going on. I may have a solution."
"And what is this solution you speak of?" The light ruler demanded.
"Tell me, what seems to be getting in the way of water and earth coming together? Or fire and air? Your elements combined can make you all powerful, but you choose to fight. By separating your lands you have caused great strife. You make it seem as if some factions are better then other, in each of your respective opinions. These jealousies, assumptions, and personal opinions have caused this ruin."
"So what do you suppose we do?" One of them demanded.
"You put all hate you once had behind you, and lower your borders."
The entire room exploded with noise, accusations, and slander.
"I will NOT lower my borders when the fire elves can just waltz in and ruin all we worked for!!" The air ruler shouted, pointing accusingly at the fire queen. Similar shouts were heard. I felt my impatience and anger start to boil up inside of me.
"Listen to me!!" As I shouted I put power into my words. Almost immediately, they all went quiet.
"This is the only way to make peace. It might not work at first, but believe me, once word gets out then things will start to come together. You just have to take the first step. So what will it be? Destruction or peace?" I Looked at all of them, waiting for a anwser. Finally, they gave me one.
"We'll do it your way.."
"Fine."
"I guess it wouldn't hurt.."
Grudgingly, they all agreed. I felt satisfied.
"Now then, your highness', I shall take my leave." I bowed then turned and left the room.
