Fanboy
"Thank you so much!! You have no idea how much this means to me, to everyone!"
I blinked, and awkwardly hugged him back.
"I-it was nothing."
"Nothing?! You're AMAZING! I will never forget this."
He was still so close to me, and I smelled the hint of flowers. I had no clue what to do in this situation and I felt my face heat up a bit. Thankfully, he pulled away from the hug and beamed at me with his big smile.
"So.. Where would you like to go now?" I asked, still trying to process my feelings.
"Well, I've always wanted to see the fire kingdom."
I smiled at him.
"Then let's go there."
"You don't have to teleport us, I can make the portal-"
"Nonsense, It'll be fine. Now let's go."
I knew it wasn't fine. It wouldn't take too many more times teleporting with Rain before I hurt myself. But, well, I was feeling quite gentlemanlike that day.
"Alright.." I could tell he knew that too.
I took his arm and teleported us both outside the fire kingdom, once again stopping in the cold abyss. I let go of him and coughed up some more blood. I growled silently to myself. That wasn't exactly a good sign.
"Are you ok?"
"Y-yeah, I'm fine. Now let's go."
I stood up and we both walked across the borders. It looked quite beautiful, with the ashen trees, the sun streaking through the red clouds... It almost felt nice.
Then I felt something shift. I glanced back at Rain and saw someone sneaking up behind him, ready to stab him. I growled and brought out my scythe. In a flash I had shoved rain behind me and slashed at the attacker, disarming them. I put my blade to their throat.
"Who are you?" I demanded. They smirked. The next thing I knew a group of fire elves burst through the trees, surrounding us. I made my black angel wings appear, ready to fight or protect. Rain brought out his spear. By the way he handled it, I was almost certain he never had any training with it. Which meant I probably had to protect both me AND him while we fought. I growled.
"What do we have here? A Earth elf and a fallen angel? This will pay a lot for sure."
I narrowed my eyes and cursed silently to myself. They were poachers.
"We aren't looking for trouble, we were just visiting. The borders are going to be lowered."
Normally I would just accept the fight and move on, but... Well... I didn't want Rain thinking less of me if I slaughtered them. Unfortunately, the elves didn't buy it.
"Does it look like we care? Money is money."
They all smirked and pointed their weapons at us. I sighed.
"Screw it."
I sliced horizontally, slicing open some of their torsos. Without thinking they charged. I kept swinging my scythe, the movements fluid, right. And soon it was over, the remaining elves retreating. I turned and looked at Rain.
"Are you alright?"
He nodded. There wasn't a scratch on him, his purple eyes were shining. He smiled at me
"That was awesome! Your so strong!"
For some reason the compliments made me chuckle. It seemed so silly.
"Thanks."
