Overpower
As soon as Rain was gone I relaxed. With him out of the way, I didn't have to worry so much over how I reacted in the fight.I charged at Alma, but instead of trying to directly attack her I shot out a bolt of darkness. I aimed right for her heart. It struck her, and she flinched slightly, but nothing seemed to happen. My eyes widened and I felt my frustration grow. How the hell was I supposed to beat this girl when she can outmaneuver all my attacks??
Before I could find a answer she tightened her grip on her katana. I narrowed my eyes, ready for a attack. She leaped up into the trees. She bounded from branch to branch, weaving around me faster then I could have imagined. She was like a blur flitting among the trees.
I paused, and hesitated. Then I scowled and stabbed my scythe into the ground, shooting out darkness in all directions. I tried to grab her with my magic, intending to not kill her but catch her. However, nothing worked.
"If you think that's going to work I suggest you give up now!!"
I growled, then a idea popped into my head. Without a moments notice I swung around, slicing the branches cleanly off the trees, eliminating the ones she was using.
As the branches fell down she flipped off of one of them, landing in front of me. She pointed her katana at my throat.
"Are you ready to give up?"
I smirked.
"Never. Listen, normally you would be fun to spar with, but I can't let you kill him. For no other reason then that boy has my soul around his neck. So I suggest you back off before I batter you down and seize your throat. After all, I can't tire or die." I held my scythe at the ready. I knew it was a risk telling her where my heart crystal was, but I was mad. And I wanted to make sure she understood I wasn't going to let her by without a fight.
She just smirked and sheathed her katana.
"Very well then. I've distracted you enough to tell you Rain is dying as we speak."
I hesitated, sure this was a ruse. But the smile on her face said otherwise. I cursed silently to myself, befouling my mind with the pungent words. For all the stupid tricks to fall for.
"If he dies, your dead."
I teleported to Rain, and froze.
Rain was laying on the ground, motionless. But what scared me most was the blood soaking his hair and wreathing his head in a pool of dark crimson. It looked as if someone had ripped out one of his horns. Clove was wrapping his head in bandages, the white cloth being soiled from the blood. Clover was preparing a healing spell.
I ran to Rain's side, sitting next to him and holding him protectively to my chest. I felt his pulse and was relieved to feel a heartbeat. Wrapping my wings around him to warm him, I looked up at the twins. I held back barely controlled rage, my hands shaking slightly.
"Who did this. I'll have their heads!!"
Clove looked down.
"We don't know... They were an entirely different race then us..."
I growled, unsatisfied by their answer.
"What did they look like?"
I could feel my power inside me, growing with my emotions, heightening. It was all too familiar to me at this point. I took a deep breathe, steadying myself, and pushed back the power.... For now.
Clover answered me.
"They were blue and there were multiple of them. They all had black hair, but each one had different eye colours. The one that did this had green eyes."
I rested my forehead against Rain's. His skin felt sticky with blood, cold in the air. I was quiet, digesting what I heard. My power still raged inside me, yearning to release it on everyone, SOMEONE, who deserves its wrath.
But was it useless..?
I sighed and pulled away from Rain, avoiding their gaze.
"The one I fought before was too fast, and my powers had no effect on them. It might be darkness in general... But I need to learn how to fight these things. Where exactly is their land?"
"It depends really," said clover, "Their land changes places depending on the place of the moon."
"Well where is it now?" I could tell they were nervous. Every time my emotions spiked they flinched. They KNEW about my power.
"It would be.. In the Naki current I believe."
Clove nodded.
"Mhm it would be."
I stood up, picking up Rain in my arms. He was surprisingly light. I laid him gently on the couch, looking at him for a moment. Then I straightened and looked at Clove and Clover over my shoulder. I spoke calmly and quietly, but with such a strength they wouldn't dare question me.
"I'm going to go threaten some people. Make sure he stays safe, or else."
They nodded, "You got it."
"Good. If I come back and he's got so much as a scratch more on him I know who to blame." I vanished, teleporting to the coordinates they said. I walked around, cautious. This place was far different then my own land, and was even farther then Lysteria. He stumbled upon a huge sparring room. Someone was sitting outside, the same person who matched the description the twins gave me. They were meditating. I knew it wasn't smart, especially if everyone from this land was as powerful or more then me, but I HAD to do something with this pent up rage.
Lest it consume me.
I snuck up behind them, dead silent. When I got close enough I swung my scythe, trying to chop off their head with a single blow.
But it went right through them like they was mist.
They didn't react, except to open their eyes and say.
"Are you trying to die?"
I was taken aback a bit, but I didn't let it get to my head.
"No, I'm trying to kill you for hurting Rain!" I sliced at them again, this time aiming for their torso, but it still went right through them.
They stood up and looked at me.
"We did what we had to do."
"Bullshit. He did nothing wrong, in fact, he's innocent!!"
They sighed.
"He's everything BUT innocent."
I glared at them. I knew I couldn't beat them, so I simply said.
"You'd better start talking, alien boy, or else."
They sighed again and nodded.
"Fine. We killed Rain's parents but the deed wasn't done. The task was to kill everyone in the household, and they failed. So now thousands of years later I chose to carry out that task to kill all of the remaining life that's related to him."
"You still haven't explained why he's not innocent, and also why your killing his entire family in the first place. My powers might not be as strong as yours, but I can still do some serious damage with them. And you people are making me want to kill whoever your leader is for thinking up such a dumbass plan."
"Rain's family killed most of our kind, Rain himself did the most damage."
I couldn't believe a word I was hearing. There was NO way sweet childish Rain could have done that.
"I don't believe you. He couldn't hurt a fly, much less kill most of your race. He's the kind of guy to cry if you hurt his plants. And I can bet you that whoever gave you those orders lied to you."
They shrugged.
"It's what everyone was told."
"It was your ruler right?"
"No, our commander."
"Well tell me where they are. I can't teleport to a place I've never heard of before, especially a person. It's too dangerous guessing."
They spoke calmly.
"The camp settlement. Its over there, a few miles at least."
"Good. Anything else?"
"That's all. Kill me if you must."
I was both impressed and suspicious of his behavior. It was as if he didn't care what happened to him, as long as it needed to be done. And the whole time he spoke calmly, neither passive or aggressive. I sighed.
"You seem suspiciously complacent. You know what, since you didn't know better I'll leave you off with a warning. Go within a mile of Rain and I'll kill you without hesitation."
Without waiting for his response I teleported away, into unknown territory, to face probably one of the most alien and strongest foes ever.
And I was ready to kick some ass.
