I teleported to where he mentioned, honing down my search to the camp settlement, and honing it even more to the person he mentioned. Surprisingly, it was Alma, the same bitch who had let Rain get hurt before. She was meditating, just like the other guy did. I hesitated, remembering how my scythe went through the last one, but I decided to try anyways.
I sliced at her.
And of course, as I expected, it went through her.
"Your trying very hard to be noticed."
I growled.
"Why did you tell everyone those lies about Rain??"
"I tell them what they want to hear."
"But why?"
"They want to believe the people of killed their friends and family, so I simply picked someone random from lysteria, and the Aarden family was my first choice."
"Your causing a war where one isn't needed! And now thanks to you Rain is over there practically bleeding to death." I shouted angrily.
"Not my problem. Everyone wanted revenge so I simply allowed it."
"It is your problem, because your MY problem!"
"You could barely take me on the last time, what makes you think you can now?"
I smirked.
"Who says I'm going to fight you? There are MANY other ways to make someone's life miserable."
"So what are you going to do?"
"I happened to spend the last few thousand years driving people crazy. And you'll see what I'm going to do. I mean, if it comes down to it I can just annoy you for all eternity. I'm immortal and my weakness is not on me anymore."
"Annoy me if yo-"
Suddenly a sword was thrown into the ground between me and Alma, sticking upright in the dirt. A girl flew down and landed on the handle of the sword.
"You hurt my little brother.." She jumped down from the sword and took it from the ground, the metal shining. She looked exactly like Rain except her horns were showing fully, and she had longer hair. I had no doubt in my mind who this was.
"So your the sister Rain was always talking about."
She smirked.
"Awwe he talked about me. But yes I am the sister."
Feeling quite bold, I said.
"Well I'm his future boyfriend, nice to meet you. How do you kill these aliens?" I twirled my scythe around.
"There is no way with a weapon like yours. They only die from one poison."
"That explains a lot. I guess I'd better let you handle the rest then."
"Smart, Rain probably needs you..."
I nodded.
"I'll send him your best."
I teleported to Rain, appearing nearby. First thing I noticed was Rain was fast asleep. The second was the two twins hanging off the wall by a bunch of vines. It covered their bodies, restricting their movement. They couldn't move at all.
"Help us please," begged clove, looking both relieved and miserable.
I smiled.
"What did you do to get up there?"
Clove and Clover both spoke, speaking in turn.
"Rain had a bad dream-"
"-and it affects his magic-"
"So he made vines to tie us up here-"
"I guess he thought the people in the house were the ones who killed his parent I don't know."
I went over to Rain and sat, resting his head in my lap.
"Well, there's some good news. If all goes well with the commander he will no longer be hunted."
"That's good at-" Rain mumbled something in his sleep and the vines tightened around Clove and Clover, restricting their breathing. They could barely gasp.
Without moving, or looking even, I swung my scythe around and chopped the vines, freeing them in a instant. Clove and Clover fell, gasping for air.
"T-Thanks Nightmare..."
"No problem." I wrapped my wings around Rain like a blanket. He curled up into a ball, still laying on my lap. Rain muttered something and being as close as I was, I couldn't help but hear them.
"You ripped her heart out... I love you mom and dad... I hate you..."
It hurt me a bit hearing what he said. It reminded me a bit too much of what happened to my own parents. I pulled him closer, resting his head on my chest, and hugged him.
"Shhh... It's alright, it's just a dream..." Then I turned to Clove and Clover, speaking quietly.
"I've got him from here you two. You can go now."
They nodded.
"Alright, see you later." They both left.
I kept holding Rain, comforting him as best I could. Then I got a idea. I gently touched his forehead and peeked into his mind, taking a peek at his dreams. Maybe if I understood what he was dreaming about, I could help him.

Rain was tied up, his parents tied up in a chair in front of him. One of the people there cut open his mothers chest, and ripped her heart out. I looked away, revolted by the sight. Rain's father most likely had something similar happening to him, for I heard Rain calling out softly to him. Unable to bear the gruesome dream anymore I brushed it aside, wiping it from his mind for the moment.

I gently spoke in his mind.
"Your safe, it's alright. It's just a bad dream."

Rain's mind stopped thinking about his parents. Then another dream appeared, hazy at first, but growing with clarity with every passing second. It showed Nightmare and Rain cuddling together. I blushed, I couldn't help it. It was so unexpected.

The dream vanished as Rain woke up. I took my hand away and looked into his eyes.
"N-Nightmare?"
"Morning."
"W-What happened..?"
"While I was gone, it seemed like someone snuck around and attacked you... I'm sorry."
"It's fine, it's not your fault."
I sighed, looking away.
"I still feel bad though... If I was just a bit faster or stronger I probably would have helped you.."
"Nightmare... It's fine... I'm fine..." He looked so weak I knew it would be useless to keep protesting.
"Are you ok?"
He nodded.
"Yep!"
I smiled, happy that he was ok.
"I had a talk with the commander. They spread lies and made it so people hunted you. Since I couldn't hurt them I offered to annoy them for all eternity. Thankfully your sister came and saved me from an embarrassing situation."
Rain giggled, "That's good."
"Yeah. You sure your ok?"
"100% sure."
I cuddled him a bit, relieved.
"Good."
He blushed and cuddled back after a moment. I'm not sure if I would ever admit this, but it felt so good knowing he was alive and well, just holding him in my arms. I had no idea WHY I felt like this, but at this point I've come to accept it as one of life's mysteries. Who knows, maybe things won't turn out so bad. Maybe he won't die.
I pulled away and looked at him again.
"I don't really want to be the one to tell you this but um... Your missing a horn now."
Rain smiled, "it's fine, it'll grow back."
"I'm glad, I was worried it was permanent, not," I quickly added, "that it wouldn't look cool or anything, but that it might bother you in years to come."
"It's never permanent."
We both smiled at each other, relishing in each others company.
