Welcome

Welcome I had settled quickly into my life with the troops as head doctor. I had yet to loose a patient to infection or later illness. In my off time Cael taught me how to use a sword and a bow. When we passed a village I was able to restock on everything and have a little fun. The troops had been marching for three days now and we arrived at the capital city victorious. Flowers were thrown from balconies and people screamed for joy. The King was throwing a ball to celebrate the victory. The nurses and I spent our earned wages on dresses and baubles. We were given rooms to prepare. The dress I wore was pale gray to be out my blue eyes and i slowly fingered the locket on my throat. I let my red hair come down in curls that I pined back and added some diamond studs. I slipped on the soft dance slipper and gave myself one last check in the mirror. There was a knock on my door and Cael was standing there looking dapper in his uniform.
"You look um amazing," he managed to choke out and I gave him a week smile. We had gotten close over the past two months and he was a kind man to me. We entered the ball and found a place in the crowd. When the king then stood up everyone hushed.
"We call the is ball into being to celebrate the victory over the Rhiedels who are a lead in the murder of Queen Celine and Princess Alexandria and these men are heroes. My personal thanks to Captail Cael of Hartwell who lead these men into battle for his nation." the King"s voice echoed through the room and Cael left my side to join the King.
"The thanks is not all mine Your Majesty, for the soldiers fought and won these battles." he bowed deep and rose to face the king, "For a young lady deserves our thanks as well for she healed us when hope was all but lost. She joined the cause willingly for her people." he finished and motioned for me to come up to the throne. I moved fluidly through the crowd and curtsied deeply before the King. The room grew eerily silent and I kept my head down until the King crouched before me. He moved my head up so our eyes would meet his probed mine for answers.
"What is your name," he whispered.
"Rose, Your Majesty,"I said back.
"Your real name child," he said back
"Alexandria" I whispered
"You look like your mother"
