Chapter IX -- Mae

I leap awake, shaking all over. Looking around, I'm in a VERY different place from wherever I thought I was.
The walls are like a transparent, glowing gold. I'm lying on a hard, cold metal floor with nothing else in the room with me. I can see other rooms just like mine with..
Oh my god.
Monsters.
Nightmarish creatures ranging from black, hulking humanoids with glaring eyes to serpentine figures hissing with anger are stuck in the rooms surrounding me. I can see one girl who's scarily similar to me across the room, facing away.
Then she turns around, and chills rattle over my entire body. She has the exact same black eyes as me.
The hell is going on?!?!
Then Blonde Boy walks in. A red cape swings out behind him. He barely spares all of the hideous creatures around me a glance. Almost like they're normal to him.
He stops in front of me. He looks at me. He doesn't say anything for a long minute.
Neither do I.
"Who are you?" he asks, his expression unreadable.
I open my mouth, but nothing comes out.

"Mae Walters," I blurt quickly. (A/N: I changed your last name just in case you didn't want your real one posted on here, Mae)
"Mae Walters," he mutters, testing the name out. Then he raises his voice and clears his throat. "We'd like to apologize for getting you possessed--"
"APOLOGIZE!" I shout, my temper immediately snapping. "YOU RUINED MY LIFE!! I HAVE AN EVIL... SOMETHING STUCK IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD AND SLOWLY KILLING ME!! I CAN'T EVEN CONTROL MYSELF!!"
As my anger grows, I can feel the blackness blurring into the corners of my eyes. I ignore it.
Blonde Boy opens his mouth to speak again, but I cut him off.
"And now I find out that THIS IS ALL OF YOUR FAULT!! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU TO DESERVE THIS?!?!"
He opens his mouth again, and I have to blink to try to be able to see at all, but I keep going.
"You have RUINED my life!! FOR NO REASON!! WHY?!?!"
Before I can even get another word in, the blackness takes over completely and all that I can feel is a dizzying, crippling pain.
