This chapter is just to inform you on why Leat's always so cheerful even though she thinks her family is dead, and the memory of her mother's death is still fresh in her mind. It IS because of her family. Not that they're dead, it's something else. If you were to ask her, she'd most likely say something about making the most out of life. Because her mother died, she thinks of life as being very short. She doesn't want to waste it being sad. Also, she says that when she dies, she wants to have tons of happy stories to tell her parents in heaven.
