Zidern

Rejection

Zidern was now terrified at what he had become as his frame became thinner and lighter and more limber making some of his clothes very loose as his pants had already fallen off showing that he stands on hind legs like an anthropomorphic wolf or cat from a webcomic he would read "woah my clothes are falling off.... But I never really liked pants.... Good thing I have all this fur covering my body" he hesitantly walked back home scared of what his parents might do to him. He wrapped his red scarf around his face and continued down his path fastening his Z cap onto his head concealing his ears as the flaps of his coat moving with the cool breeze blowing throughout new york at night.
His house came into view and his parents were outside waiting for him, he walked over slowly "uh hey mom.... Dad...." They both screamed "Z-zidern what happened" his mother Minerva backed away with her husband Clive "stay away from us! You're a monster!" Clive yelled at this thing that was once his son "But dad!" "You are not my son...." He ran inside with his mother locking the door. Zidern couldn't believe what just happened as he ran away into the sewers so nobody could see what he had become.
~4 days later~
Zidern was about to turn sixteen in a day as it was June 19th and he was born on the 20th. He sat there in the sewers crying the hours away wishing his parents hadn't rejected him those few days ago. He stopped as soon as his stomach growled, wiping tears away he got up "I need something to eat...." He had a thermos with him he had filled with water before entering the sewers but that alone wouldn't be enough to keep him alive. He peaked out from a sewer cap "its night time....  Murakamis blind so maybe he won't notice my change...." He slid the cap off opening the sewer and climbing out into the street dashing into an alley very fast but not before sliding the cap back on "Murakami's is only a few blocks away from where I am...." He made his way to the restaurant sticking to the alleys being as quiet as a mouse and as stealthy as a ninja
~an hour later~
He finally stopped infront of the shop only to see it was closed "aw man.... Maybe he's still here cleaning in the back" He knocked "Mr. Murakami its me! Zidern!" Murakami appeared from the door of the kitchen "Just a minute Zidern" he made his way to the door and opened it, he entered "What brings you to my shop at this hour?" He said in a concerned tone of voice "well I um... I um...." "Something's different about you.... You don't seem human anymore" he raised a finger and gently poked his nose "Ah you are a cat now!" "How did you know?" "I may be blind but I'm not stupid. That and I smelled wet cat when you walked in" Ziderns ears flattened "oh...." "You may be a mutant now but I still sense good in you Zidern" Ziderns ears perked up "R-really? I'm not monster?" Murakami laughed "No no no! You're like the turtles, you may be a mutant but you are a goof mutant"
Zidern paused "did you say.... Turtles" Murakami smiled "yes they saved my life a few days ago and I made them pizza gyoza as a token of gratitude" "well that explains the pizza gyoza" his stomach growled extremely loud "Somebody sounds hungry, I'll go make some for you, wait right here and have a seat" he made his way into the kitchen" Zidern sat down and thought to himself [maybe I'm not alone after all....] He then accepted what he was but the guilt of his parents rejecting him was still present like a dagger to the heart
