Bending to the Will

After she got off the bus, Kara walked to the Guru's house. He was the only person she trusted with her personal feelings, and not only that.
He was blind.

"Kara, come on in. I already have some tea on boil." He says, opening the door before she could knock on it.
She nodded and walked to the kitchen, pouring herself a cup if tea.

Despite knowing each other for years, she hasn't learned the Guru's name. He knew hers, but how she didn't know. She never told him, but she was fine with it.

"The boy is kind to you, yes?" Guru inquires, sitting down at the small, traditional table as she hands him a cup of tea.
"Yes, and I don't know why. Could you-"
"Talk to him? There's no need, really. He's a sweet lad, but he harbors a dark, evil past. Just like you." He states matter-of-factly, smiling as she perks up.
"But... He..."

Guru holds a hand up.

"Judge not by appearance , nor how you feel. Judge by his actions, his words, and how much common sense he has."
She nods, taking in every word.
So far, he hadn't lead her astray, so listening to him seemed like the best option.
"Also, watch out for the stool." He says, mere seconds before she nearly tripped on a stool.

"Thank you, Guru. I'll take your advise to heart." She says, leaving quietly.  
Guru frowned and sipped his tea.
"That boy is in for one hell of a ride. I hope he says yes. Would be a shame if he didn't."

Kara walked to her house.
"More like a mental hospital..."
She walked into her house, sat her things down, then sat on her mattress.
How long had it been since mom and dad left her here?
How long had it been sine they left her?
She didn't know.
She didn't care.

But...
If she has Sesa as a friend, then she won't be so alone.

She smiled at the thought, standing up and walking to the basement. Thankfully, her dad was into wood working, and she learned a few things before...

"Christmas is coming up. Maybe if I make him a guitar..." She whispers, picking out an excellent piece of wood.
"Just wait, Sesa. This'll be the best Christmas ever."
