Broken-Hearted
I was broken-hearted.I sat in my room crying all night.
I should have known I was NOTHING more than a friend to him.
I punched my bed out of anger.
How COULD he?!
I cried myself to sleep that night,
my dreams of Tristan.

I woke up the next morning feeling exhausted.
My mother and father came in a few minutes after I woke up.
"Honey, I think you should talk to Tristan." my father said.
"I agree. Why don't you get dressed and then go over to his house?" my mother said.
I nodded, even though I didn't want to see that jerk.
I ate my breakfast and then put on some nice clothes.
I then did my makeup and headed out the door.
I could hear mockingjays singing there sweet songs.
I smiled but the smile didn't stay as I turned to Tristan's house.
I walked over and steeled myself for what I was about to do.
I knocked on the door and waited for Tristan to come to the door.
When he answered, the first thing I noticed were his eyes.
They were red, like mine, as if he'd been crying. But why would he be crying? Wasn't he the one that hurt me?
He were sad and solemn, which surprised me.
"Dawn?" he said.
"Yeah..." I said awkwardly.
"My parents left a little while ago, come in." he said.
I walked inside and Tristan led me up to his room.
"So why are you here?" he questioned.
"Well um... after yesterday my parents wanted me to talk to you." I said.
"What did I say? Dawn tell me, honestly." Tristan said.
I took a breath.
"Well, when you said that whole thing about us only having to pretend we were in love for the cameras, well it's just..." I sighed.
"Before you said that, I was about to tell you something. Something important." I said.
"What was it?" Tristan asked.
"Tristan, I fell in love with you. I was going to tell you and well..."
Tristan looked at me.
"Dawn..."
I cut him off.
"Tristan you broke my heart."
"Dawn... you broke mine." Tristan said and looked into my eyes.
"But-Wha-huh?" I stuttered.
"Dawn I loved you, and well... I didn't think you loved me back."
Tristan looked down at his lap. I could see his cheeks turning bright red.
"So that's why you said that thing about pretending?" I said.
"Yeah. Dawn, I was a wreck last night."
"Tristan, I well-" he silenced me with a kiss.
"I know Dawn. I love you too."
I grabbed his hand.
"So I guess we're no longer broken-hearted?" I said with a wry smile.
Tristan smiled.
"No, I guess we're not. Dawn will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes!" I said and kissed him.
"I love too you Tristan."
