Curiosity Caught The Hybrid

For the past 19 hours since Lotil had locked herself in the room given to her by Toffee the hybrid made a move towards him by kissing his cheek before fleeing afterwards made the poor Monster feel conflicted with her own emotions stayed in her room overthinking what she did letting her thoughts repeat it over and over only increased Lotil's unholy urge of forbidden feelings for Toffee she debated with herself for the rest of the night unsure how to put up with her situation had not noticed it was already 12:16 PM. She had been up half the night growing exhausted but refused to let slumber take hold of the hybrid, instead she unlocked the bedroom door and peeked her head out letting it open widely Lotil checked down the hallway to be sure nobody else was awake, luckily it was all silent. Sighing relieved she shuts the door quietly behind her making way towards the stairs setting one foot down at a time as quiet as she could Lotil listened carefully for anyone following her even kept her eyes as wide open as she could with sleep drooping down, she shakes her head.
"No, don't sleep now Lotil. You gotta stay awake just a little further" she reassured herself silently walked down the hallway of the castle unsure where she was headed.
Down one hallway, Lotil sees a distant light flickering in a room to her left perking the hybrid's curiosity. Cautiously tiptoeing ever so slightly towards the room she sneaks a peek around the corner making out what seems to be a living room the light she had seen was coming from the fireplace, a fire of course was sparking up brightening the room. Lotil snuck her her head around to get a better glimpse she saw a large chair that was facing away from her she could see a figure sitting in it; squinting her eyes trying to make out who it is, the figure's head had turned and stood up Lotil acted quickly ducking away from the room. The light of the fire had gone out following behind were footsteps, Lotil looked around in hopes for a place to hide noticed a long stripped curtain hanging from one of the windows the hybrid dashed over behind the curtain hoping it kept her well hidden the footsteps of the creature she saw walked directly past her unaware of the lizard wolf's presence.

As the footsteps got more distant, Lotil peeked her head out in reassurance no one else was around she sighed and stepped out from behind the curtain. Approaching another room the hybrid got more and more exhausted looked up at the clock hanging on the wall; the time was now 12:25 PM, she groaned rubbing her face Lotil was growing very annoyed for a reason unknown but slapped the feeling away and trudged on further down the hall finally coming across the room she wanted to come into. Toffee's Office. Ever since hearing from Buff Frog about the plans Toffee had and kept secret the hybrid not only felt drawn to the lizard but very suspicious about him grew to curious about what he was hiding, carefully placing her hand on the knob she attempted to turn it though Lotil's exhaustion got too much for her weakened body to handle. Growing slightly angered the hybrid forcefully moved her hand and got the stupid knob to turn, opening the office door at least she thought she opened the office door instead of a desk in place or two bookshelves Lotil had found a bedroom with soft carpeting, a bookshelf in one corner of the room, a medium sized bed, and a dresser beside the bookshelf.
The hybrid huffed realizing she had gone to the wrong room area, instead of leaving Lotil decided to look around the room in a way to compare to her own. Studying the bookshelf taking a look at a few of the books that were organised she even took a glimpse at the dresser but decided not too before checking the bed, Lotil went over to the closest and found a row of shirts: one being a red velvet sweater, a summer shirt, a tuxedo, and a couple of others the hybrid has not seen. But wait. Looking over the shirts again Lotil discovered the tuxedo the same one exactly like the one Toffee would wear she tensed realizing she was in Toffee's bedroom. On edge now, the hybrid was in no hurry to stick around when Toffee returned to his room she quickly made way to the doorway when something stood in her way stopping Lotil in her tracks. Backing away slightly feeling terrified before her stood Toffee who had been in her way of escaping the bedroom stared at Lotil confused about her sudden presence being in his own room, the hybrid may have been tired but fear had gaped on her afraid to know what this lizard would do.

Toffee had only been doing his final work for the night in his office before heading to bed for the night when making his way towards his bedroom he noticed the door was open when he clearly remembered closing earlier. Walking over to the entrance of the room he took a step around the corner to see if anyone was inside Toffee caught sight of Lotil standing in the center of his bedroom confusing him as to why the hybrid was in here to began with noticed her tense up and shake from fear. From what he could see, Lotil was afraid that he would do something to her; Toffee just gave the hybrid a look of slight displeasure at her even invading his room to began with.

Lotil could see Toffee wasn't very happy to see her in his room finally took a deep shaky breathe and looked directly at him "Toffee I - I just...." She couldn't find the words to say what she wanted to say. Toffee crossed his arms patiently waiting for Lotil to speak.
"I wasn't intending to come into your bedroom okay I was um... looking for the bathroom...? Yeah the bathroom and I came across here instead trust me though I was going to leave indeed I really am I'm sorry" the hybrid's ears twitched a bit indicating it was a lie even Lotil knew that but thought maybe she could get away with it smiled a so called innocent smile.

Toffee raised an eyebrow at her unfazed by her 'telling of the truth' could noticed how her ears moved everytime she made up some random excuse even the smile wasn't believable. He gave a smug smile at her.

"You really think I'm that easy to fool Lotil?" He began the hybrid smiled nervously at his question.

"U - uh what do you mean? I would never think you were foolish haha" Lotil nervously laughed her ears twitched more.

The lizard made his way over towards Lotil, both hands placed firmly behind his back walked past her to stand near the window "The way you're ears move says otherwise" his gaze turns back to her.

The lizard wolf tenses up grabbing onto both her ears holding them down nervous sweat running down her face mumbles "Stupid freaking ears" Lotil huffed "I uh don't know what you're talking about!"

Toffee could sense her getting defensive he walks over to the hybrid who's hands are keeping hold of her ears "Really? Than why are you holding your ears down?" He smiled at Lotil waiting for an answer.

Lost in thought sweat rolled down on her face knowing this phenomenal lizard had caught her bluff Oh my corn he's got me what do I do? What do I do? Should I just run for it or tell him the truth? Ugh I can't think straight I'm so tired ugh if only I had gone to sleep I wouldn't be in this situation. Maybe if you hadn't kissed his cheek things would be a lot easier, I regret everything right now! Lotil's silent conversation was nerve wrecking she had no clue on what to do but exhaustion was so overpowering she knew running wasn't the option.

Releasing her ears letting them go upwards and letting her head hang down sighing in defeat the hybrid looked over at Toffee "Okay you got me. You see, I was told by this frog monster named Buff Frog who told me about these plans you had to steal a wand from the Mewmans in attempts to merely destroy it in addition you being the one to have thrown him out including a little bird named Ludo. I got so caught in wanting to understand how this plan of yours worked I tried looking for the office but due to me being so tired from being up half the night after the whole kissing you're cheek thing.
Ugh I felt so awkward about it afraid I made you feel awkward and in addition I wanted to learn more about this whole secret plot you had and instead came across your room and you're here I'm here making it more and more awkward I just I just don't know anymore! I'm tired so tired I want to understand who you are Toffee but I don't know if you'd ever allow something like that you being so mysterious and freaking uh freaking...oh nevermind I'm just trying to say I'm sorry! I'm really am I just...I just..." Warm tears started to fall down the side of Lotil's face to upset to go on the hybrid noticed the tears and immediately wiped them away not accepting the saddened feeling she sniffed trying to pretend it never happened.

Toffee who listened to Lotil's entire explanation really got him off guard shocking him unsure what to say when he noticed the tears fall from the hybrid's face giving him sudden worry for her seen her just wipe the tears away refusing to let this all get to her. Lotil let out a shaky sigh rubbing her eyes to prevent anymore wet tears didn't look up at Toffee just held her head down in shame.

"If you want me to leave that's fine really. I just hope you can forgive me for the trouble I caused" she sounded weak probably from lack of sleep had felt two hands grip on to her arms and with no warning pulled into a warm embrace.

Toffee had felt some pity for Lotil seeing she had felt guilty for what she's done simply pulled the hybrid into an unexpected hug startling her. "Listen Lotil, what that dumbfounded frog says is I'm afraid true but I can't really tell you about it at least not for a while in time you'll understand. Don't be so hard on yourself my dear, whatever feelings you may have held back I'll be glad to hear about it just give it time than maybe everything will get a whole lot better" Toffee rubbed Lotil's back in comfort feeling her body shake intensely from the incoming sobs.

Lotil tried concealing the tears that dared exposed themselves but it didn't budge tearful reminder knew she could tell Toffee wasn't lying about all this let out silent shaky sobs over his shoulder clawed onto his shirt bended her head downwards a bit leaning it on Toffee's chest for support.

"Th - thank you Toffee" she sniffed attempting to pull away from him.

Toffee nodded smiling "Your welcome" Lotil smiled back tried releasing herself from Toffee's embrace but the lizard refused to let her go free purposely trying to irritate her.

Lotil grunted annoyed seeing this lizard had some strength in his arms she couldn't even make one little finger budge. She was stuck "Toffee, let me go you scaly fiend" the hybrid demanded looking up at him.

Toffee looked down at her with a grin "I would, but I'd rather not. You seem rather tired I mean have you not seen yourself right now, you can't even stand upright in addition you're eyes are drooping in this condition you wouldn't even make it all the way upstairs."

Lotil crossed her arms with a pout "So what? I'm just learning to get used to it and all no biggie whatsoever. Even if I was as tired as you say I am where would I sleep than if I can't make it upstairs?" Her expression turned red when the lizard smirked at her. "Wait! No no no no, Toffee why? Why? Look dude I like you (a lot) but hehe I believe I can make it on my own to my room I know I can. But I ain't sharing no bed with nobody."

Toffee chuckled at Lotil's protest to his intended idea "Well Lotil if you believe you can make it on your own--" he released his hold on her "Be my guest" his smile not fading.

The hybrid stood in one position right after the lizard released his grip "Yes I bid you goodnight and now I'm heading upstairs to my room" though feeling a bit unsteady Lotil took a foot forward and stumbled forward landing directly on her face lifted herself up "I'm fine, I'm fine I stumble all the time no big deal" she reassured herself but every step the hybrid took resulted her falling over.

Toffee snorted to himself amused at how hard Lotil was trying though could tell she wasn't going to be successful. The hybrid groaned from exhaustion she leaned against a wall and slid downwards "You know what I'll just sleep down here" she announced.
Toffee shrugged a smile planted on his face "Alright, suit yourself if you change you're mind you can always join me" he suggested before removing his shirt and laid himself in bed.

Lotil remained curled up in her corner trying to get comfortable and sleep as best as she could but even being this tired could not prevent the cold air from running down her body. She shuddered annoyed that she couldn't even sleep due to this sudden chill turned her tired eyes towards Toffee who had already fallen fast asleep. Letting out a long sigh, Lotil grabbed the nearest object to steady her feet and slowly made way towards the bed stumbled forwards gripped her claws into the bed frame; looking across from her was Toffee his back facing away from Lotil, dragging one foot after the other the hybrid finally managed too get onto the bed and under the warm comfort of the blanket turned over to her side yawned loudly before finally allowing slumber to accompany the hybrid.
