Too Haate or Too Love: Lotil's Story

Don't Get to Attached

In the castle where Toffee had allowed Lotil to stay for as long as she wanted, the hybrid had already felt at home well not yet at least. Right as she did step down the stairs out of the bedroom the first thing she saw were a couple other Monsters ones Lotil hasn't met had all been talking together when they all noticed Lotil standing a few feet from them and weren't very happy to see her probably cause they had no idea who she was or where she came from. One Monster who wore a white tank top, pants, had antlers, a beard, and a humanly like body who's skin was dark green came up to the lizard wolf (one Lotil has seen before when snooping through the windows) causing her to back up from him.

"Who are you? I don't remember there being another monster around here" he exclaimed pointing at the unknown guest.

Lotil crossed her arms "Oh, well I'm Lotil and I'm not sure if Toffee told you but he let me stay here for a while."

The monster looked at her doubtfully "Uh huh, sure and am I suppose to believe that?" He snorted.

The lizard hybrid glared "Don't believe me beardy? Ask him yourself."

"My name is Beard Deer thank you very much" Beard Deer corrected.

Lotil laughed at the name "Beard Deer? That's you're name? Haha and here I thought it was Beardy but I was wrong it's way worse than that" she put a claw over her face as her head leaned back in laughter.

Beard Deer clutched his fist in anger "So what if it's not a great name. I doubt yours any better" he retorted back.

The lizard wolf stopped her laughter and looked at Beard Deer for a minute "You do have a point there. Ha, well than I take back what I said. I'm sorry." The hybrid smiled slightly apologetic.

The bearded monster seemed surprised "Hm, it's fine I guess? What's your name anyway?" He asked.

Lotil cracked her knuckles before responding "Just call me Lotil."

Beard Deer and some of the other Monsters laughed "Lotil huh? Funny, now you say Toffee let you stay here?" Lotil nodded.

"I see, well welcome to the castle Lotil. Let us show you around if you want" Beard Deer offered.

Lotil thought about the offer for a moment but rejected it "Thank you for the offer, but I'd rather try finding out about this place myself or at least til I'm fully comfortable" she explained kindly.

The monsters nodded "Alright, you can hang out with us anytime than seeya later" spoke a small fly monster.

Lotil smiled once again waving her good byes to the Monsters watching the group leave she turned and went the other direction down a long hallway of rooms some being restrooms. Checking many different rooms with open doors or no doors to locate where all main areas each are located from the bathrooms to the kitchen to the living room a balcony and a large room where a long length table stood centered; while exploring the castle not once has Lotil saw Toffee she got curious as to where that mysterious lizard had gone but decided to worry about it another time when she found a back wooden door leading outside on the other end of the castle. Believing it probably led to a garden or something the hybrid came close to the door placing a hand on a black knob measured up the door's height to her own seeing it being twice the size than she was, turned the handle and took a peek outside not to find a garden but what looked like remains of a building.
Lotil wasn't really impressed about it and was planning to head back inside but something stopped her when she heard voices near by. The lizard wolf stepped out completely following the voices from around the corner saw both Ludo and Buff Frog (monsters she's seen before) but both Monsters were interacting with themselves probably out of boredom, with caution Lotil walked around the corner and stood there very confused finding the small bird monster referred to as Ludo pacing back and forth muttering to himself before jumping at the sight of the hybrid's presence.

"Ah! What? Who are you, what do you want?" The bird monster squawked in alarm.

Lotil was amused at this monster's reaction "Oh the name's Lotil I'm currently residence here in this castle. Didn't Toffee tell you?"

Ludo scoffed at the mention of Toffee "Toffee? That idiot stole that castle from me and turned all my monsters against me, I don't own it anymore!" He sounded very angry throwing his hands up in the air.

Lotil raised an eyebrow "Wait, your saying Toffee got you kicked out of you're own castle? Wow" she sounded sarcastic at her last word.

"Yes! He stole it from me, ugh if only there was a way for me to get it back, Buff Frog won't help me I know that" Ludo complained.

"Uh okay. Maybe Toffee had his reasons for throwing you out but I'm not gonna jump to conclusions whatever the reason I'm not getting caught in the middle" Lotil leaned against the wall after speaking.

Ludo grunted but got an evil grin on his face looking at the hybrid "Well how about this? You can help me take back my castle in return I'll give you something worth fighting for what do you say?" The little monster put his tiny claws together in a begging manner.

Not moved by Ludo's offer Lotil turned away from him and headed down another direction trying to ignore the obnoxious bird's complaints. Continued walking around the castle hearing Ludo walk from behind in attempts to catch up unaware of the frog monster's presence the hybrid monster stopped too look over at Buff Frog who had caught sight of him glancing over at her confused Lotil returning the same expression.

"Can I help you with something?" She asked Buff Frog when Ludo had suddenly ran into the back of her legs only to be pushed backwards using her tail to flick the bird away.

Buff Frog let his eyes follow to Ludo than back to the Monster he had not met before "Well, no I am just confused as to why you are snooping around castle. Are you by any chance helping Ludo?" He questioned in an unfamiliar accent.

Lotil titled her head over to the left where Ludo is standing a mere 3 feet away than lifting it back up to face the frog "If you're thinking I'm helping him get back his castle. No, I'm not. It's not my problem to deal with, Toffee just allowed me to stay here for a while that's all" she explained crossing her arms.

"Toffee let you stay in castle? Hm, funny he threw Ludo and I outside we are not welcome to stay there anymore" Buff Frog pointed out somewhat annoyed at hearing about Toffee.

"So Toffee threw you guys out? Why is that, did something happen?" Lotil wanted to know feeling partly bad for both Monsters.

Buff Frog got off the pillar stretching "You see, I had grown suspicious about Toffee since the day he replaced me with spy machine when I once worked for Ludo. I even attempted stealing the wand with invention he created but it was sabotaged so I failed the mission and was thrown out of castle."

The hybrid became surprised "Wow. I never thought Toffee would have done such a thing but I don't know much about him so I shouldn't doubt about it not being true and a wand? What kind of wand" she suddenly got curious about the mention of a wand.

He nodded "The wand is something Ludo has been after for years but now it is Toffee who is after wand, the wand is a powerful weapon that belongs to the known Star Butterfly and Toffee plans to destroy it. But Just take my advice don't get to comfortable with Toffee he is very tricky who knows what evil plans he may have."

Lotil gulped at the thought but drowned the feeling from her "Thanks for telling me this I'll be sure to stay aware about it. So what's your name?" She asked wanting to change the subject.

"I am Buff Frog, the monster there I'm sure you already know is Ludo" Buff Frog pointed out.

"Nice name. My name is Lotil, nice meeting you Buff Frog and may I say you have quite a lovely accent" the hybrid complimented with a grin.

"Thank you Lotil, first time someone has actually complimented about my accent" he smiled grateful.

The lizard wolf Monster swayed her tail smiling back "You are very welcome and Ludo. Take my advice buddy, don't let this devastating world hold you down fight it back when you have the chance" she smiled down at Ludo trying to sound supportive.

Ludo was slightly surprised "I - I'll do my best, thank you" he responded.

Lotil nodded "Now I must return back inside it was nice meeting you both" she waved goodbye too both Monsters before returning to the back door.

Heading inside closing the door behind her, Lotil looked down the hallway as if expecting someone to appear but it was empty and silent. Sighing from exhaustion she made her way down the hall looking around letting her eyes scan the decorative walks not paying attention to where she was going was just too caught up in the scenery had something below her feet cause the hybrid to tumble forwards had thought she would have face planted on the hard floor but felt something warm instead.
Grasping her claws on the one who caught her Lotil lifted her head up and surprisingly found it to be Toffee was her catcher the grey lizard had his snout somewhat close to her own once the hybrid had sat herself up straight blushing brightly failing to hide it felt very discouraged.

Toffee held onto Lotil after she had tripped over his tail alarming the lizard when he had just in time caught her in his arms gave a look of concern "Whoa there, are you okay?" He had asked.

Lotil tensed up a bit in his arms moving away from his grip covering apart of her face "Y - Yeah I'm fine th - thanks" she stuttered.

The grey lizard lifted an eyebrow "Okay than. Best be careful where you walk Lotil, you tripped over my tail which not only alarmed me but almost got you face palming the hard floor."

The hybrid nodded not looking at him "Yeah I get that now" she tried relieving herself from exposing her pinked up face by taking deep breathes.

Toffee lifted his head to look over Lotil's shoulder wondering what she was doing right now had noticed the hybrid in frantic flusters he chuckled at the sight and laid a hand on her shoulder startling Lotil who let only her eyes look over at him. The lizard was seemingly grinning at her amused by the actions she had towards him, leaned over a bit letting his head bend down to the hybrid who suddenly backed away in alarm aware of his motives but it only encouraged Toffee to creep towards her more. Lotil went further back as far as she could not wanting to see what this Lizard's intentions were she didn't want to find out but life for this monster had other ideas.
Another step backwards and the lizard wolf had hit a dead end a wall had blocked her way from going any further, Lotil panicked internally feeling her heart pound as Toffee approached invading the hybrid's personal space. He had one hand on the wall beside Lotil's head she had slightly shrunk down from her normal height seeing Toffee was at least taller than her made the hybrid scared a bit, her eyes glimpsed at him nervously face turning bright with red.
The grey lizard suspected this leaning his head down at Lotil letting his eyes catch hers off guard Lotil turned her eyes away from him covering them up with her hands, Toffee smiled moving both the lizard wolf's hands away and placing his right hand on her cheek looking into her eyes once more. Lotil shudder at the touch and looked up at Toffee shyly unsure how to react.

Toffee merely softly smiled at her "You know, I'm not sure if anyone has told you this but you're eyes are truly beautiful" he spoke his voice sounding calm.

Lotil blushed and giggled "Thank you, T - Toffee" she responded her heart pounding fiercely now.

Toffee chuckled "Your welcome my dear" he grinned moving away from Lotil giving the hybrid her space once more.

The lizard wolf smiled back than felt the warmth presence of Toffee move from her, she watched him head down another direction and without the words to describe what she did next was something she really was hoping would never happen. Lotil approached Toffee her face brightly pink alarmed the lizard unsure what was happening when the hybrid planted a kiss on his cheek which Toffee had not at all expected became stunned. Lotil fled afterwards up the stairs not wanting to find the reaction Toffee would have went into her room, locked the door, and flopped down on the bed staring up the ceiling in shock wondering to herself What did I just do?
