Dear Diary,

Mrs. Pelletier handed back our graded tests today. I got a 100% and I'm happy. Mark also got a 100%.
I asked Mark what books I should read and he said I should read Hatchet. I asked him what it was about and he told me all about it. He described it so well that I got it out of the library later and so far I've read the first three chapters and it is amazing.
We had indoor recess today because it was raining. I wanted to splash in the puddles but Mrs. Pelletier was strict about it and wouldn't let me even catch raindrops in my mouth. I played checkers with Mark and I won three times. He won five times. He said he plays it a lot with his dad and he actually asked me to come over to his house that afternoon! I did and we played eight games of checkers and he taught me lots of cool tricks. I taught him how to play chess and he says he's addicted now.
