Chapter 13

        “Oh, have I been rude? I do apologize, let me introduce you to my companions.” he continued, gesturing to a group of six people. “I believe you know my friend gluttony here,” he stood next to the cook, “He has an insatiable appetite.”
        He turned to the next. “Ah, sloth.” he was a very visibly tired man, slumped down in his chair, with bags under his eyes, and a stubbly black nine-o'clock shadow covering his jaw. He glowed black. "He's a bit narcoleptic."
        Next, he went up to a very… muscled man. He was ripped from head to toe, enormous biceps under broad shoulders, and a very shiny, bald head. He glowed red.
        “Pride. Notice how his chest is puffing up? He does that.”
        The next was someone who looked very lecherous. He had those untrustable, darting, pupils, untrustworthy and calculating. He glowed blue.
        “Lust. He wants everything, but unlike your friend greed, he never goes after it, really. He just desires it.”
        The one after had a scrunched-up, pouty face, like a ferret. She looked over Kai with judging, patronizing eyes. She glowed yellow.
        “Envy just wants to be like you, so she can be a bit of a bully trying to make you think she doesn’t.”
        When Kai looked over to see the last one, he wasn’t surprised to learn that the person sitting in the corner was Al, now glowing orange, like the flames he liked to play with.
        “Ah, yes,” said Rage, “Greed. Now he wants stuff. He goes after it. You know him, why am I telling you this, you know him. Not that it really matters, though. You’re coming to our side.”
