Angels

The Waterfall

I glide lazily until I reach the Falls of Forgotten Tears, the sacred chain of waterfalls that contain all the sadness that the people of earth have cried away. Slowly I drift downwards until I land gracefully on a small overhang. I sit down carefully and cup my head in my hands. Thinking. Now that everything has happened and passed by, I feel sorry and miserable. I start to think that maybe Valour might not be so bad.
But then I hear something.
The beating of wings.
I look up and see Valour, and I start to feel awkward. She floats down towards me and sits right next to me.
"Hey," she smiles, "I heard about that argument you had with Bliss earlier and I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused..."
Her voice is sweet and angelic. I smile weakly. "Uh, no, it was my fault." I answer. "I just got a bit angry, that's all."
"Right..."
We sit on the edge of the waterfall, both of us silent. Valour looks like she wants to say something.
She does.
"Hey, um, Faith..." she doesn't look at me. "Hey, I know that you didn't want to know me at first...That you thought I was a mistake. I...I just want you to know that I'm not like you think I am, and that if you get to know me you might really like my company..." she drifts off and glances at me to see how I'm taking this. My expression gives away nothing, so she looks down and starts to get up. "Just thought you'd like to know." she mutters before launching up into the sky.
