The Banquet

The next day we have a banquet. I apologised to Bliss about yesterday's incident, and she forgave me and helped me dress for the banquet. It is actually for Valour, and she is meant to give a short speech. To be truthful, I want to get to know her better, like she said yesterday at the Falls, but I haven't had a chance to talk to her. Today when I see her I'll see her as a friend.
The dress Bliss has prepared is awesome. It has a scarlet and coral sash going up from hip to shoulder, and at the bottom it has light yellow sequencing up the dress to a vibrant red with a brown belt and a gold buckle across my waist. Bliss made some fake gold leaves and put them decoratively in my hair. When we have finished, I look in the mirror.
"We should name it," I suggest, posing like a model.
"You're right." Bliss answers, thinking hard. "Lets call it... the Sunset Dress!"
"Nice! So, looks like I'm all set! Thanks, Bliss."
"No problem. See you tomorrow, Faith." I smile and wave as she goes out.
Now I am ready.


I push open the huge doors of the Feasting Hall. I scan the rows of angels until I find Valour. I say her name. She looks up and I give a fashionable twirl. She grins. "Hey, Valour!" I say to her as I slide into the seat next to her.
"Hey, Faith!" she answers brightly. I look at her and for the first time I see her outfit.
It's white, like a wedding dress, but there is a cream faux-leather jacket lined with fake rabbit fur resting on her shoulders. On her feet are gold-coloured sandals encrusted with fake rubies.
"Awesome dress!" I comment.
"Same to you," she replies.
We talk and chat until the food is laid out on the table. I look at it gluttonously.
There are pastries, tarts, sandwiches, roast meats, fish, fruits and more.
Everyone stuffs themselves to the brim. After dinner is Valour's speech.
"Hi, everyone. I am here today because God has chosen me to be one of you. I thank you for that, and I will be sure to be as kindhearted an angel as all of you. Thank you for your hospitality towards me. Just remember that I will always be...faithful to you."
At the end, everyone cheers. Especially me.

That night I go home feeling happy. All has worked out well for me, and as I drift off to sleep, I think of Valour's speech. That last part was directed at me.
I smile and turn over. I will always be able to live up to my name, and I am going to start as of now.
