The Argument
Angry, I walk back to my dormitory. All the angels each have their own rooms, in a huge apartment block in the clouds. I storm into my room and slam the door behind me. Then I run to my bed and pull the covers over my head. Why did that idiot have to be chosen? She was disgusting, dirty and stupid. I lie there thinking dark thoughts about Valour when I hear my door open. And footsteps. They come up to my bed. Stupid Valour. Someone wrenches the doona off my body and I glare up. I am about to shout, "Go away, idiot!" when I stop. It's Bliss, not Valour. "What do you want?" I demand, frustrated."Faith." Bliss answers steadily. "I know you don't feel comfortable with Valour staying here. But she means well."
I snort incredulously. "MEANS WELL?" I stand up. "She is an imbecile."
"Faith! You are defying your name!" Bliss rants fiercely, "You are supposed to be kind and understanding. Stop acting like that!"
"ME? I'm SUPPOSED to be like that, am I?" I retort, "Well, you know what? I am sick and tired of pretending to be what I'm not! You can go get you're stupid namesakes and stuff them!"
Fuming, I jump off the ground, my wings beating fast. I fly up and out the skylight, away from my home, away from the people that live there.
"Faith!" Bliss is calling behind me. I don't go back.
I will never go back.
