-A Week Later-

Dakota's Point Of View

Ever since I saved Haven from her sea of hatred, Haven has wanted everything to do with me, and nothing to do with that idiot Zero. Normally, I would never come visit her at her house, but now she texts me and wants me over all my free time. I am so happy she wants everything to do with me, but the atmosphere at home with Zero has been unpleasant. He will not say a word to me which is completely fine with me! I told the jerk how I felt about Haven, and he thinks he can just ripe her away from me! I swear.

Walking around in the hallway, I noticed the poster that had prom written in big letters. Apparently, the theme was supposed to be this underwater like atmosphere. Talk about boring and done way too much. Oh, well I guess it will do. I plan to ask Haven out on prom. However, I am going to take her on a date after school if she says yes. Due to the rain, baseball practice was canceled, so this was my chance to finally get a date.

Standing beside her locker, I waited for her to get out of her P.E. class and come to her locker. Out of curiosity, I opened the locker and noticed a white envelope tapped to the door of her locker. I guess curiosity killed the cat because I grabbed the envelope and opened the it. Inside was a black note with white writing on it.

"Congrats on choosing one of the guys in your love triangle. Did you know beautiful voices like yours should be kept quiet? You do not know who might come after you." The anonymous note had on it. What the heck is this? Could this be a threat? Ripping the note up, I stuck the remains in my blue jean pocket and shut the locker door like nothing happened.

Then, I heard foot steps coming to the locker. Her blonde long hair blew behind her while her school uniform fit her like a glove. A smile curved on her pale face as her brown eyes stared at me with so much care. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of her beauty.

"Hey, Kota! What are you doing here?" Haven said wrapping her small arms around me hugging me tight.

"I have come to ask you a question." I mentioned holding the hug as long as I could.

Laughter filled through out her mouth as she asked, "Well shall I hear the question?" My heart tighten in my chest as I tried to think of the perfect way to say it. Then, I realized it would be perfect no matter what.

"So, since I have no practice, and I'm thinking you are not busy, would you mind going out with me for tonight?" I felt my face turning red with blush as I continued hugging her.

"O-f co-ur-se!" I heard her shyly answer stop hugging her while she put her books in the locker.

"Where do you want to go?"
"Any where!"
"Well, since I'm the guy, and we like to sing, lets go do karaoke."
"Sounds good. I will meet you in front of the school, Kota!" Haven said closing her locker and running to her last class.
"Ok see you then!"

Finally, I am going on my first date with her! This afternoon is going to be perfect! With a smile curving on my face, I started walking down the hallway when I saw him. Zero was walking past me with the cold expression he always has on that ignorant face of his. But, some thing was different about this. He actually looked like he was going to talk to me some how.

"So, you are taking her out?" Zero asked me coldly not even looking at me.

"Doesn't matter to you if I am or not." I responded with the colder look on my face.

"Well I was wondering if we could make it a double date." Zero showing a evil smile on his face.

"When hell freezes over, we will talk about it." Clinching my fist, I wanted so bad to punch him in the face.

"Oh, Kim will be so upset." Zero walked down the hallway until I grabbed his wrist.

"Kim? Her best friend!" I yelled growing angry over how he was approaching his lose.

"Who else, little step brother." Zero tugged away and started walking to his next class.

I have no idea what he is planning to do, but I have to hurry up and get to class before Kim mentions who she is with! But, didn't Haven say Kim was with Robert? I am so confused, but it does not matter. I have to protect Haven! As I started running down the hallway, I wondered what was this feeling inside my chest. Was this what they meant by love? Could I love Haven?

Hurrying to her class, I looked inside to see Haven talking to Kim. Kim appeared to be dressed up really pretty with makeup and hair done nice. Main reason I like Haven is cause she does not use stupid make up all the time. Before I could walk over there, I listened to the conversation they were having while I sneaked over.

"So, guess what?" Haven said excited.

"What??" Kim commented fixing her hair.

"Kota is taking me out tonight! We are going to go sing!" Haven almost appeared like she wanted to jump up and down in excitement.

From the look of it, Kim appeared to hate what she is about to say, but no matter how she felt said, "Haven, I have heard you sing. Maybe he should take you to the park instead."

"What are you talking about? Kota loves how I sing, and you always said I sang great?" Haven asked confused over how her best friend was talking to her. Something is wrong, but I will wait it out until I find out what is wrong.

"I lied. You can not sing. I've also lied about something else, too." Kim could not look at Haven as she continued to talk.

"What do you mean lied?" Haven seemed even more confused about the topic.

"I never had a crush on Robert. I always liked Zero, but we kept our attraction in secret. When I would not respond, I was with him." Kim could not even glance up off the floor as I saw Zero appear out of no where wrapping his arm around Kim's shoulder with an evil grin on his face. That jerk.

"Are you talking about us, baby?" Zero commented making sure Haven could hear. I noticed Haven's fingers clinching together like she was about to run away, but she could not move.

Kim latched onto his chest and smiled glaring into his blue eyes saying, "Oh, yes I did. I wanted her to understand how we feel about each other."

Haven who was looking at the ground looked up and smiled at the lovely new couple saying, "I am glad you two found each.." Her voice started cracking when she noticed how close they were to each other. I could not stand it anymore. I escaped from my hiding spot and wrapped my arm around Haven's shoulder and kissed her lightly on the cheek. Her face grew bright red as I noticed Zero gritting his teeth.

"Hey, sweet heart! I thought I would come see you in class. Could not stop thinking about you and our date tonight." After I uttered those words, I wanted to punch myself in the face. I called it a date.

Haven looked up at me with her sad brown eyes now turning into her normal caring eyes. I could almost see them telling me thank you for what I had done. "Thanks, Kota. That is really sweet of you to do that!" Haven commented with a smile on her face.

Looking away from Haven, I saw Zero glaring at me with such evil and hatred. What he was doing was easy to figure out, but what I do not understand is why Kim is going along with it? Where is Robert? "I guess you two are pretty close aren't y'all?" Zero mentioned staring straight at Haven. I felt her hand tighten around my shirt as I rubbed my hand on her head.

"Yeah. We are. Congrats on your new relationship, but Haven how about we go to our date early?" I commented picking her up like a princess and carrying out of the room. She giggled stop and put me down, but I could not put her down. Zero might come after her and try to upset her. I could not let that happen. I am very serious about her. I hate seeing her upset.

"Kota, I can't skip class." Haven looked at me while her small arms wrapped around my neck. Carefully placing her down, I wrapped my arms around her waist and looked inside her eyes.

"Let me protect the most important girl in my life, ok?"
