Mobius High - Hayley's Story

Meeting Justine

On my way to see Sonic and the others after school, I walk to my locker and put my school books in.
When I close the locker, I see someone at my side. She's a white cat, but with red and orange streaks, and she has an outrageous sense of style.
But she doesn't say hi. Instead, she tackles me to the ground. I kick her off me and stand up, but she punches me in the face. She's tough, this one!
But then she looks at me. I'm not even breaking a sweat, and she seems impressed.
"Wow, you really are tough," she says. "No wonder you're top of the fighting class. I'm Justine."
"I'm Hayley," I say.
"Oh, everyone taking fighting will know you now, Hayley. But I don't think Lightning will be pleased."
"Yeah, he hates being beaten," I say.
"Hey, you like being brave?" Justine asks.
"Heck yeah I do!" I reply.
She takes my hand and we run outside, to the tall building next door to Mobius High.

We're on the roof of the building, 50 storeys high.
"Wow, this is way high up!" I say.
"Wait till you see what we're gonna do," Justine says.
I look across and see a zip-line. "WICKED!"
"Yep, we're gonna zip-line!"
We both attach ourselves to one of the lines, and step back. Then we run up synchronicity and jump off. This is so awesome! I feel so free! Like there's not a worry in the world!
When we land on the ground again, we both scream with excitement and hug each other.
"That was awesome!" I say.
"I do stuff like that everyday," Justine says. "Just the other day, I was playing our own little version of 'Capture the flag', and I threw knives at a target too!"
"Man that sounds awesome!" She then holds her palm up, and I high-five her.
"Sounds like you love bravery, Hayley," Justine says.
"Oh, definitely," I reply. "Feels great." And free.
"Sweet, maybe we can be best friends?"
"Sure, I'd like that." I smile.
"Sweet, wait till you see what we're doing tomorrow!"
And I can't wait to find out.
But first, I need to meet up with the others.
I still have to explain to them about my true self.
