Sally Buenard
Sally has blonde hair and blue eyes, the same ocean shade as Kate's. She wore an elegant green dress with a jeweled comb in her long hair. She was popular with the boys too, but was better at handling it than Kate was. She walked towards her best friend and sat down beside her.Kate smiled. "Yeah, I'm having a lot of fun!"
"Great!" Sally smiled back. She looked out into the crowd. "Have you done any dancing?"
"No."
"Come on, Kate! It shouldn't be that hard to find a partner!"
"I can't dance."
Sally laughed. "Oh! So that's it!" Kate laughed too. They both looked at all of the dancing couples.
"What's it like to be wealthy?"
"What?" Sally looked at her friend, who had a thoughtful expression on her face.
"What's it like to, you know, get whatever you want," Kate looked down. "and have servants come at your every call?"
Sally looked at Kate for a moment, then looked up. "It's not as nice as it seems. Your family expects you to have perfect manners, and sometimes, the large house feels..." She paused. "...empty, or lonely." Kate just sat there, pondering it. The music changed to a slow waltz. A red haired boy approached the two girls. he turned to the blonde teenager and held out his hand, bowing.
"May I have this dance?" Sally took his hand. "Certainly." She stood and went with him to the dance floor, giving the black haired girl a quick wave good bye.
